To each his own, it's my money. The whole process at the Apple store took about an hour, very quick. After only 27 cycles and 1 month of use the battery was down to 3034 mAh (design max charge is 3076 mAh). The new one is 3140 mAh. How much difference does ~100 mAh make, who knows. But the old one just felt off to me.
Did you get a new battery or a new phone?

I got a new battery. Phone looks pristine, same condition as when I handed it in for repair. I was concerned there would be scratches or other cosmetic issues from carelessness, but they did a great job.
Wow you actually got an Apple Store employee to change out your battery at 99% for $? Wow that's impressive. I'm happy for you.

Yeah, the support person didn't even question it aside from re-iterating it'd be $70. I was somewhat surprised considering the stories I've read. I would've stood my ground and told her that it's my phone, I'm not happy, I'm not requesting that Apple cover the repair cost, I should be able to pay for a new replacement component if I want to.

I go to gym every morning where I play a TV show or portion of a movie for 30 minutes on my iPhone 13 pro. I also do some browsing. When I get home after about 1 1/4 hour my iPhone still shows 100%. Then I use my Ipad Air to brows while I eat breakfast. So 20 minutes of use on my iPad brings it down to 97%. ????

Noticed an overnight drain for the first time on my 13 PM. Haven’t happened before for the last two weeks I’ve own it.

If you look back at many of the posts here, you'll see that doesn't look so different from what others report. It would be more helpful to see what activity is reported during the hours you circled (by tapping each hour). That would be my first step.

This is the weird part. I've had it off charge for about eight hours, but the total usage shows way less. And it shows well over 2h on screen, but there's no way because the only time I can use my phone is breaks and lunch which total an hour. FB makes sense for about an hour. But Messaging also shows about an hour, which is definitely untrue.

Even in that last SS, it looks like maybe 9-10 hours since 100%, but total time is showing 5h10m. Where did the other time go? Your screen is either on or off.

Yes, the area circled in red, only had background activity of an app approximately 1-2mins per hour for 2-3 hours. It dropped more than 15% it seems. Today it was fine. 90% left since I plugged out at 12 midnight. It’s 12 noon now and I’ve used 2h 20mins on YouTube (1.5hr) and WhatsApp.

I’m a bit worried about my mini battery usage. it has difficulties with making the end of the day, and I never get above 3.5 hours of screen on time. Sometimes it drains 20 percent in 1 hour, with just some browsing of web and social with a podcast. Is this normal? I’ve disabled all background refresh, turned off 5g and disabled location services.

Looks rather abnormal. Your top two usages are Instagram, and Twitter with reasonable SoT and background activity. I’ve seen higher usage with less power consumed. Is this a recent occurrence or has it always been like this?

It's a brand new phone, have it for a week now.

Instagram is RIDICULOUS drainer.

I stay away from any google apps, too, since the gmail app drains battery ridiculously more than it should.

Well extrapolating your 25% left to the hours of screen time we get 0% with 4.66 hr of screen time. This is quite OK in my opinion. Yes, there were times when I could get 7.5 hrs but i am not IG or gmail user. Usually I could get anything between 4.5 hr to 6-6.5 hrs. If the battery life is somewhat critical, then mini is a no go, because of the smaller battery heavy drain greatly reduces the battery life. For example, wife has 13 PM, heavy usage gets you 9.5 hr and her usual is at 13-13.5 hr.

I thought it might be a good idea to post a battery life thread.

The idea is people post just before they put the phone on charge for the night. This will help track battery usage over time.

Seems like an okay streak, 6 hours 18 min and 26% left!?
The smartphone was used for less than 12 hours, constantly spending time with it. Nothing unusual.

My 13 Pro in 12 hours = 4.5-5 hours of screen time. And if 24 hours = 3 hours of of screen time.
