As ppl have pointed out, it has to do w/ the commitment to FaceID, which takes more than one hole. I'd imagine Apple decided a notch looks better than either multiple punch-holes, or a thicker bezel that goes all the way across the top that doesn't match the other sides. Not sure what the other alternatives are??Enough with the notch. I wish Apple would eliminate this rather ugly design element.
yea, or battery percentagesince the notch is letting more space to left and right, hope Apple with iOS15 will let more icons there, like DND, or alarm etc
you think so? before the x, i always preferred the phones with white fronts. i think a lot of people may like white bezels!I know I am in the vast minority but I really wouldn't mind seeing a white bezel version.
All with super exaggerated shocked faces in the thumbnails. Here we go.All the tech YouTubers will rush to make a video about this.Cue lots of notifications about the same thing 🙄
Where else do they put the Face ID hardware other than in the bezel?!Apple's still doing notches? WHY?
I believe Apple has already done deep red with the SE 2020. I would like to see Tangerine Orange.Desperately waiting for the new flagship color of 2021?
Deep Red Maybe???
I doubt Apple are going to go backwards on the biometric authorisation front.I don't really see the big deal with the notch getting smaller. I'm more concerned with getting Touch ID.
Here's a good article that explains the different types of biometric unlocking - scroll down to "Apple Face ID and 3D scanning" https://www.androidauthority.com/facial-recognition-technology-explained-800421/I have a doubt: how does the FaceID work? There is only a hole for camera, but no fo r other sensors!
You might as well get as much screen space as possible rather the wasting space with empty bezels as you are suggesting.Notch notch, go away, don't come back another day.
Please just make the iPhone sightly taller and ditch the notch. Also provides tiny bit of extra space for a larger battery. #IDontLikeTheNotch
How is it backwards if they just add it alongside Face ID? What is "backwards"?I doubt Apple are going to go backwards on the biometric authorisation front.
It's less secure and convenient than Face ID. I doubt Apple will make a product with both as one of them would be redundant and tiny devices don't have space for redundancy like that! It's one or the other and it'll be Face ID.How is it backwards if they just add it alongside Face ID? What is "backwards"?
Because of FaceID.Apple's still doing notches? WHY?
I find it more secure and much more convenient. It's less secure and convenient than Face ID.
I guess Apple disagrees with you thenI find it more secure and much more convenient.
