I think that's because it's one of the best ways to recognize another brand of iPhone in a movie or other commercial when you only see the face.Apple's still doing notches? WHY?

It also houses the clever technology for Face ID.I think that's because it's one of the best ways to recognize another brand of iPhone in a movie or other commercial when you only see the face.
I don't think they disagree with the technology seeing that they still produce it in the iPad Air and iPhone SE.I guess Apple disagrees with you then![]()
They'll be phased out eventually once Face ID gets down to the right price to be able to totally replace Touch ID.I don't think they disagree with the technology seeing that they still produce it in the iPad Air and iPhone SE.
There was a rumor just within the past week or so of Apple bringing under screen Touch ID.It's less secure and convenient than Face ID. I doubt Apple will make a product with both as one of them would be redundant and tiny devices don't have space for redundancy like that! It's one or the other and it'll be Face ID.
I know, it just doesn't seem very credible. There was a rumor just within the past week or so of Apple bringing under screen Touch ID.
lol OKThey'll be phased out eventually once Face ID gets down to the right price to be able to totally replace Touch ID.
I expect the Air will probably have another iteration with Touch ID before it switches to Face ID and the next SE iteration will be Face ID (probably an iPhone 12 derivative).lol OK
1. No one has ever complained about the security of Touch ID, even after Apple tried a marketing tactic to get people to care about the increased security, which didn't workIt's less secure and convenient than Face ID. 1.I have never gotten annoyed with Touch ID, because it works when you expect it to work.
They don’t need to. The speakers they have are attuned such that, holding the phone horizontally, the L/R audio is balanced as if they were the same size and shape.I’ve always wondered why Apple won’t put a speaker equal in size to the bottom speaker across the top.
That is what the beauty of having BOTH options on the phone would be.Lucky you. I always had problems with Touch ID. At the gym was even worse than normal (sweaty hands I assume).
Maybe not for the iPhone, BUTTTTT… if they decide to keep the iPod touch, then they could go full screen without putting FaceID in it.I know, it just doesn't seem very credible.
couple of years everybody should....Enough with the notch. I wish Apple would eliminate this rather ugly design element.
And yet there could be 2 very thin “bands” at the top and bottom instead. Here's a good article that explains the different types of biometric unlocking - scroll down to "Apple Face ID and 3D scanning" https://www.androidauthority.com/facial-recognition-technology-explained-800421/
There's a ton of tech crammed into the notch area!

I am from Greece and I have the same question...Why does a Greek repair shop have replacement screens 6 months early?
probably because they can't figure out how to get rid of itApple's still doing notches? WHY?
Convenience is subjective, security is not. Unless you have some peer-reviewed research showing otherwise, half your statement is wrong.I find it more secure and much more convenient.
