So i get the pre-pre order thing, I put my preorder in when its possible.

Now this morning when I tried to login to pay for my pre-order, I was told it's gone!
Panic & tried to put in another order, it's scheduled to arrive on 4th Oct instead of 24th.

3 hours later when I log-in to see the status, it says I've got a pre-order to fill,,, what?!!

I had this issue too. Just got an email confirmation FINALLY. After about 10 min? Best of luck. This preorder has been very Wild West for loyal fans.

If you think a server delay in notification of an order is the Wild West …

The night before pre-order, on my iPhone in bed,
Do I get the Pro Max, or the Pro instead?
The pre-order is set, I can now go to sleep,
But what of my 12, should I sell it or keep?

The day is here! I'm ready to order!
The app or website, which wait will be shorter?
Refreshing like mad, there's no time to waste,
The page finally loads, my order is placed!

Now to Mac Rumors, to share how I fared,
Only to find the prepared have despaired.
"The iPhone Upgrade Program has let me down!"
I'll try my luck at the Apple Store in town."

Next week on Wednesday the reviewers will drop,
Thoughts on the iPhone, a win or a flop?
What about colors? My choice I rethink.
Don't ask Justine; she always says pink.

Now a week later, the wait I can't stand,
I have a Pro Max right here in my hand.
The excitement wanes quickly, for now that I squint,
What the hell? Is that a green tint?

Back to MacRumors, "Is it only me?"
It's definitely there, we all can agree.
Maybe they'll fix it with a point one update.
"Is it software or hardware?" will be the debate.

This week is my favorite that's not holiday,
The kid in me can come out to play.
Few understand this, and yet we are proud,
The nerds, the geeks, the Mac Rumors crowd.
This is so awesome ... bookmarked for the upcoming MBP 22 model pre-order thread!

Last night was pretty rough.

Due to COVID restrictions in Melbourne, and MASSIVE delays in mail/shipping in general, I opted for store pickup.

They asked me to pick a date, and a timeslot for pickup.

I chose one of the available timeslots. I clicked on “Complete Order” or whatever. Spinning wheel. It’s thinking.

Error message: “The selected time slot is no longer available. Please choose another.”

I choose another timeslot. Spinning wheel again. “Sorry, timeslot is full.”

So I choose another. “Full.”

Another? “Full.”

Maybe Apple should block off the selected timeslot for 5 minutes while a customer is completing their order? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Mine already says Preparing to Ship

:)

I don’t think there was a lot of demand, I was able to order smoothly at 5:02 AM pacific, got issues with the credit card and was booked back to back entire day, was able to fix order tonight.

Seeing a lot of white/silver orders. Me too. I think it's because the Pro colors are really poor this year. I had the white backed 3GS but since then I've always gone Space Gray. I thought I'd go white again, not because I like it overly, but because maybe it won't get quite so hot outside and it's easier to find in the dark!
But I think the colors match the iphone 13. solid, but nothing special. The blue and gold are pretty poor chocies though in my opinion. It's a "pro" machine yet they make half of em a ridiculous gold color and a kiddie blue.

Similar issue here.

Talked to Apple Support on the phone. They say shipping address cannot be updated (even by them) until their system is out of "maintenance mode", probably 24 hours. But it shouldn't ship before I am able to update the address.
My cancel button has disappeared and still no option to change address. I really hope we can before it ships!

Verizon has collected tax up front the last couple of times I have upgraded (I am still on an Xs max) so I expected this part.
It's BS, especially for those of us that upgrade yearly. Sprint has always factored the tax in to the monthly lease price as it should be. Otherwise, folks who upgrade yearly (most of us?) are paying tax on the full phone price but trading it in early. They sure aren't going to refund the difference when upgrading next year; oh no, they'll expect you to pay the tax on the full price again.

Store didn't appear up for me until about 8:12am, eastern time. Even once it was up, it took a few minutes for the "add to bag" button to un-grey itself, and by the time it had, my local delivery window went from Sep 24th to Oct 8th! Fortunately, in-store pickup options remained Sep 24th, so I picked a nearby store. Went with a pro model.
Which phone did you choose? Same happened to me, store opened at 8:12ish, attempted to order three phones at once only to get the "too many phones popup, right at the last review / pay button selection, dropped one phone placed an order, then went back in to order the 3rd phone". Last order finished at 8:27ish and all three are scheduled to deliver 24 Sept.

Tried Apple card three times, eventually had to use my Amex. Had a 24th delivery the first time it tried to process Apple Card, delivery oct 6th by the time I got the Amex to process.
My Apple card was pre-added to my account information, card worked for the first order and the second order without a hitch. I could not do the pre-pre order for veteran discount.

I wish they made a product red in the pro max version. I have a 12 pro max and would def get one if they made it in red!!!!

Called them today and they were able to
change the address over the phone. It took about 20 minutes on hold while my rep was talking to her manager.

I chatted with them. They said they would put in a request but couldn’t guarantee it because it’s “preparing to ship” 😕 I guess I’ll call tomorrow too.

I've just received a notification from my UPS app.

Oh, I'd think Apple will provide appropriate compensation if the fault is on their side.
AppleInsider is reporting "iPhone 13 upgraders who couldn't preorder with Apple Card will still get 3% Daily Cash" -- couldn't find an article on it here in MacRumors.

I got this impression too, what's more I think the iPhone 11 is selling faster than anything. I'm coming from an 8 plus, and I was going to go for the 11 128GB @$549, but it's freaking sold out. So is the 64GB. None in Apple stores in TX except in Houston (I'm around Dallas), sold out online at T-Mo. And if I order an 11 online from Apple - it delivers in 3rd week of October FFS, almost 6 weeks from now!

Next up would be the 12 - easy to get - but it has worse battery life than the 11 and half the storage of the 13, and the discount is only $80-$100 vs a 13. So the 12 makes no sense from a value perspective at this moment. It would need to fall another $50-$100 to make sense to me.

So I will probably wind up getting a 13 by default. I never buy the latest, always get the 1-2 year old model and keep it for 2-3 years. Kinda being forced into it this cycle.

I wish people would stop hyping the so-called deals. All the carriers do the same thing.

You get a new phone if :

1 - You upgrade your plan and trade-in a moderately recent phone
Example: t-Mo has Magneta Max. Costs $60-$65/mo more than essentials. You can get a new iPhone 13 "free" if you go on that plan. Then it'll distribute it over 30 months. Tell me what $60/mo X 30 months is. So they want me to pay $1800 over the next 30 months so I can get a 'free' $800 phone...

2 - You have no obligations on current plan and add a line, with a trade in a moderately recent phone
So you add a line and get a free or mostly free phone that is credit over 24-30 months. If you switch in that time, you're on the hook. Most people don't need another line as if they did, they'd already have that line. This is just a way to keep you as a customer. In point, these plans are not cost effective unless you use this every 24 months. You'd be better off going with a lower cost partner of your favorite carrier.

3 - Switch carriers. Basically if you lock in with a new carrier you can get a free phone, credited monthly for the next 24-30 months. Again to do this, you need to not have any prior obligations with your current carrier or you have to buy it out (i.e. the last 'free' phone you had is not free). And this 24-30 month lock in is an obligation, so next years "deal" won't apply to you.

Once you've paid off all phones and all 'crediting' for a 'free' phone, the carriers usually bring up two-for-one deals that you become eligible for. Buy one phone, get the 2nd one free.

This is good for people with two lines. These deals show up all the time. I used mine up last December and got my wife and son iPhone 11s - my actual cost for both was $599, but I am locked in now until Dec of 2022.

In other words, there's nothing new about current deals.

All of these are basically plans to keep you locked into your carrier for 24-30 months at $100-$200/month. And essentially if you stay with the major carriers, you'll get screwed if you don't buy a new phone every 2 years.

IF you don't want to buy a new phone every 2 - 2 1/2 years, you should be using their discount partners.

To sum this all up, there is no such thing as a free iPhone.

Welcome to the forums. Sorry you're going through this, but pre-order hell and frustration, you're definitely not the unique snowflake in this regards, several people have similar issues.

Give Apple a call, note any reference/invoice details and they'll sort it all out. Don't want to end up being charged for 2 phones when you only wanted one.

personally I have to go in person this friday as pre-order is full retail up front before trade in can be valued and I don't want an Apple Card for the credit.
