It’s obviously limited by money. Nothing new with Apple.I guess that rules out ProRes being limited by RAM to 1080p on the 128Gb Pro model.
Apple never advertises the amount of RAM in iPhones, but based on strings contained within the Xcode 13 beta, MacRumors can confirm that iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models are equipped with 6GB of RAM, while the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini have 4GB of RAM. These amounts are unchanged from the iPhone 12 lineup.

The same Xcode strings accurately revealed the amount of RAM in iPhone 12 models last year and in several previous iPhone generations.
iPhone 13 models feature a more power efficient A15 Bionic chip based on TSMC's advanced 5nm+ process, but Apple has not indicated how much faster the chip is compared to the A14 chip. The A15 chip also has a new 5-core GPU in iPhone 13 Pro models — up from 4 cores — that Apple says delivers the "fastest graphics performance in any smartphone."
All four iPhone 13 models will be available to pre-order starting Friday, September 17 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time in the U.S. and over 30 other countries and regions. The devices are set to launch one week later on Friday, September 24.

Let’s face it: The biggest change this year is that it comes in pink

That's a pretty low bar. Having more RAM means the phone can last many years, not just 1 or 2. Those buying an iPhone 13 (4GB) will be in a similar situation to those using iPhone 8 (2GB) today.I’m the first to complain about Apple’s proposed spyware, but I’ve never ran into any problem with my 12 Pro Max’s 6GB RAM. 🤷♂️
New, faster, more efficient SoC, vastly improved camera hardware, and the next-generation of iOS.... and people are whining? What a world we live in.
More RAM does not equal better. Seriously. All it does it lead to bloated, wasteful apps because too many developers are lazy and focus on features instead of performance.
It could be that they choose to go for better battery life instead of more performance, considering they are still way ahead of the competition and more performance wouldn't do much for a phone anyway. The new iPad still out performs its non-apple competition, and is using the 2 year old A13. 🤷♂️First time they've ever done that, which means we're actually hitting a ceiling on Y-o-Y performance. That's not good.
But in reverse ? Because this one um, improves battery life?iPhone 13 to the 12 is what the XS was to the X.
Ok buddy we get it. You’ve got a Samsung Galaxy S3 and it’s time for a change. Welcome to macrumours! No ram increase, weak cpu upgrade, no Wi-fi 6e, no new mobile data upgrades, no mmwave outside of USA. Can’t even call this a solid internal upgrade tbh.
There is no indication of new SOC being faster. The efficiency is still to be seen. There is no data for it either. "Vastly" improved camera hardware - based on what? Wait for the tests to come to verify this. Bigger sensor should deliver some improvements but the size increase can't be that significant (it's still a smart phone, the increase in thickness probably indicates the increase in the sensor size - at the same rate).New, faster, more efficient SoC, vastly improved camera hardware, and the next-generation of iOS.... and people are whining? Samsung Galaxy S3 may have more RAM than iPhone 13. Did you check?Ok buddy we get it. You’ve got a Samsung Galaxy S3 and it’s time for a change. Welcome to macrumours!
These are very big "if"s. This year TSMC did not deliver a major new process upgrade and Apple did not deliver major CPU architecture upgrade. You may end up with 5% efficiency improvement and 2% performance improvement (if any).I think some people are talking crazy.
They have the best chips by far. Facts. Fastest chips in the world. If ALL they have done, is increase them a small 10% in performance whilst still being able to coax out another 1.5-2.5hrs of battery life - no question that is a huge plus for a portable device. I’m not sure where all the silly talk out of the wood work is coming from. People acting like this about to perform like an android or something.
It may have more RAM but you should also consider the DDR generation...Samsung Galaxy S3 may have more RAM than iPhone 13. Did you check?
And the iPhone 14 to the 13 will be what the 11 Pro was to the XS.iPhone 13 to the 12 is what the XS was to the X.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have an iPhone 12S upon us.
Another 5 years till we get more ram 😂Ahh, I was hoping for 8GB of RAM but it’s all good. It’s a S year upgrade.
That Sierra Blue is 🔥 🔥 🔥
