Why do people like blue tone screens. I always make my screen look more reddish than blue. Good for eyes and makes me sleep better.

i'm a bit disappointed on this front, i dislike warm hue on screens, and iPhone tends to have this issues since the X or even before , but it is true that it's more color accurate, last year i ve bought more than a dozen of Iphone 12 pro max from Apple from november to March each one of them had various degree of yellowish ( of course i know about true tone and night shift ) but i was hoping the issue would be fixed this time on the 13 pro max, and i already got 3 of these , one of them was a little less yellow than the other two ut unfortunately i've made a little scratch on it with the back of the camera bump of another 13 pro max so i returned it... i was able to order 2 new ones that i will get between the 26 of oct. and 2nd of Nov. and Apple kindly extended to 30 days the period i can return the one i have left..
i know about the color filters trick , it works great, but you loose around 150 nits of brightness by activating it... i really do not get why samsung can make so much phones with LTPO display or OLED panel with a blue hue often a bit exaggerated but more flattering to me . and as they are the main providers of OLED displays for Apple it would be cool to know if it's just Apple who calibrate the phone to a warmer hue for more color accuracy , or if this is just the majority of us who prefer a cooler display ...

Press and hold both volume buttons and the power button until the haptic engine vibrates once. If successful, you will see a sysdiagnose folder. Save it to files and uncle notes the folder. Open up IODeviceTree in the search bar. Towards the bottom of the file is “raw-panel-serial-number”
How exactly do you do this? I tried several times, but each time I get a very quick double vibration and the Power Off screen displays. What is the trick?

Press volume up/down/power button at the same time until the phone vibrates once or twice. The power off screen does appear. You then go to your diagnostic reports in privacy settings and look for the file towards the top

My 13 Pro Max has a G9P panel. Very uniform, no tinting issues, from what I can see. And I have been very careful about how I examined the phone. Right now I have True Tone off, Night Mode off and Auto Brightness on.

I thought you had yellow tint?

True Tone is actually working as it should for me after a few days from release date. I keep it on. If anything, it needs to be used with Auto-Brightness to calibrate for a few days.

Thanks very much! Got it. My 12 mini is G9Q. Extremely uniform display with no noticeable flaws at all, except for a slight warmth compared to a XR screen.

When I enable True Tone my display gets warmer looking which can give the whites a more yellow look to them. I actually prefer the cooler look with True Tone off.

I have the diagnostic complete how do I see what panel I have?
Settings->Privacy->Analytics & Improvements->Analytics Data. Scroll down until you see a entry that begins with sysdiagnose. Select it and then bring up the share sheet. I copy the zip file so that I can access it on my Mac computer. On Mac computer, I unzip the file, browse to the ioreg folder, open the iodevicetree.txt file with a text editor. Search for raw-panel-serial-number.
