I just noticed my iPhone 13 pro max has red tint on one side of the screen. Very noticeable on less than 50% brightness condition. I guess I need to exchange for another one in store.

Anyone else has the same problem.?

Had that with my 12 pro max. That's why I got AppleCare+ so I could swap if needed. The one I got now is slightly red towards the bottom which doesn't bother me as much. It all depends on what part of the sheet the screen it made from.

This is the Main reason I don’t get AppleCare until AFTER I examine and take delivery of the product this is obviously a factory defect and should NOT cause a waste of an AppleCare exchange.

Exactly!!!! I think the best thing people can do for the first several weeks is keep an eye on the forums because any issues that people are noticing will pop up and you can find out if your device has it or not, and then exchange the phone if necessary.

Don't have this problem in dark mode, is there any 13 pro max that don't have red tint in light mode? 🤦‍♂️

Apple has offered to replace mine, without me having to use my apple care +

Perfect blacks and greys here, light mode is the problem for me.

The display on my 13 Pro Max is very uniform in light and dark mode. The blacks and grays are very uniform. I guess I got lucky based on what I see from some of the other posters. I am still adjusting to the situation that sometimes I see a brief bit of red on the bottom of text. Also, I am finding that I don't really like the off-axis color shift. I need to go look at the M1 12.9" iPad Pro with its min-LED display.

Seems like we both have the same panel, I don’t believe there is any 13 pro max out there without red tint.

My launch day PM had a red tint on lower part of the screen. Managed to find a device from a third party seller which is much better and doesn’t have a red tint that I can discern.

Launch day device being collected by UPS Monday for a return to Apple.

Better device is a 256 GB Graphite PM. Launch day silver 128 GB PM.

When I hear people describe that there display has red tinting to it, I see their displays have a general red cast to them, maybe only in a portion of the display. The display on my 13 Pro Max does not exhibit that behavior. It looks more like localized shift on some of the pixels showing red on the lower portion of text. It is very brief, quick and it disappears. And this only seems to happen when I have dark mode on. So this is also red tinting?

Mine is the opposite, dark mode looks fantastic, it’s light mode where I’m seeing the same issues as you, guess you could call it red tint, typical OLED behavior, it’s a flawed technology, prefer my mini led iPad Pro display over this rubbish.

You exchanging your unit?

Mine is a keeper. Sounds like what I am seeing is more or less an artifact inherit in OLED tech. Also, my 13 Pro Max has zero physical defects on it. I really like the silver color with its contrast to the white frosted glass.

In general I am very happy with the phone. The battery life has been stellar for me. I marvel at how much battery life there is. Such a beautiful phone.

Might keep mine as well, not sure if I want to end up with a even worse panel.

You noticing your panel getting a warmer hue throughout the day? Got True Tone, night shift and auto brightness turned off.

Just went into a completely dark room with mine (Auto-Brightness kicked in and adjusted the brightness very low in response) and I see no hint of red on mine.

I also have True Tone, night shift and auto brightness turned off on my phone. Not really noticing too much warm hue, it is a fairly blue hue. At some point we need to stop nitpicking our phones and start enjoying them. I even like the bit of heft the 13 Pro Max has, it feels very solid and well built.

Yep, this phone is 99% perfect, glad they went a bit thicker this year, battery life is amazing, hopefully we’ll see a iPhone with a 5000 mAh battery soon.

This obsession with thin phones needs to stop.

Everyone is drooling over the awesome battery life they’re getting on the 13 series, even the mini is killing it, wouldn’t of been possible if they continued making these devices thinner.

I suspect that Apple did not include AOD because it ate too much battery and they wanted to give the best battery life possible.
