I’ve had 4 units thus far and all have had varying degrees of uniformity issues between tints of white color temperature in different areas (generally towards green or red) and issues with grays in low light. I think it’s, as many have said, a pick your poison for us who notice such things until QC gets better.

Here’s my latest. The replacement still has uniformity issues with grays and whites, but not nearly as bad as the last unit (left in the attached pic, which shows major red tint on right side).

My 13PM looks like the one on the right side of your picture, light reddish tint on the right side, visible at under 20% brightness in darker rooms.

Don’t rely on better QC. Back then I replaced my launch day 11PM after 6 months, because of banding and un-uniformity. Replacement 11 PM was even worse, sold it after 1 month and ended up using a iPhone 8 until the 12PM came out XD

What image are you using?

Also chiming in here. I have had 3 AppleCare+ replacements and they all had worse tint than my original display, which is a slight orange tint at the top and more green at the bottom. The last two ERS replacements had G9P panels while my original is G9N, so I wonder if Apple is binning B-grade displays for replacements.

The orange tint is most clear when True Tone, Auto Brightness, and Night Shift (I have mine around 25%) are on. It is better with TT and NS off, but I shouldn't have to change my use case for a display defect.

I am not sure what there is to do now -- I don't think that asking for replacements until we get a perfect one, if ever, is a reasonable proposition. There must be a limit to how many ERS replacements are allowed before alarms go off, and apple store replacements are at the mercy of store staff or the manager. There's also the issue of stock.

The 12 Pro series had the green tint issue that some saw fixed with 14.5, and now the 13 Pro series has orange tint.. what color will it be next year? :)

Anyone know if G9L is any good? Just purchased a 13 pro max for my wifey and has the G9L and is perfectly uniform and no pink/orange tint at dark.

I've had G9N and G9P. G9P were okay. G9N seemed to be good but the reddish tint is visible at low lighting even on light mode. G9P had similar. But I don't know where G9L is coming from and is the first time that I saw this screen serial number.

I have read that G9N is rarer than G9P, so G9L must be a unicorn

Absolutely gutted for myself. I noticed mine under darkness and brightness was below 50%. I have a 13PM. It’s very obvious in the settings page as first described by OP. It’s even more obvious once you get the scroll bar to show up.

Very disappointed with this experience. I know it’s only minor but I dropped almost $2k for this supposedly premium experience and it’s my second day today with the phone and I have two issues that keep bugging me.

I’m not too sure if I should wait for 15.1 or just call it a day and return my 13PM and use my 11PM for the foreseeable future.

I bought another 13 Pro, old one on the right side, new on the left.
It looks better to me, but unfortunately the phone came scratched out of the box near the lightning port and the sim tray sticks out about half a millimeter.

Image on the left is the 13PM, on the right it is 11PM. Let the photo speak for itself. This is unacceptable. Going to return this.

They said that last year on the 12s. What a joke.
well i dunno about 12s issue at all, i was upgrading my phone from 11 pro max to 13 pro max

just did a few test on my iPhone 11 Pro Max screen and guess what...totally no green tint at all

and i did use a software to check my iPhone 11 Pro Max screen serial number (G9N) my iPhone 13 Pro Max screen serial number (G9P)

Which means G9N Screen is a unicorn right ?

Not always the case. Serial number for the screen really don’t tell much. It all depends on where the panel was cut. I.E whether it’s top, bottom, middle, all depends on where it was cut. I’ve had G9N before on 12 pro maxes and few of them did have green Tints, that also includes G9Q As well.

Thanks for clarify this, i do really hope that apple will sort this out.....as i contact apple support via live chat last time and they said will calling me regarding this issue.....until now i didn't receive any call from apple support....

I have a G9L 13 Pro Max. It still has a little pinkish tint around the notch but that’s only visible during certain circumstances. I’ll keep that one now - it’s my second one and the first was awful.

I had the same issue, except it was along the horizontal middle when the phone was held in portrait. Returned that and bought a new 13 Pro Max and I still have the same issue except now it seems even more noticeable than the first.

Is it possible that its get better/ less noticeable over time?
it’s kinda buggin me not gonna lie. I still have my XS lying around which seems almost perfect to my eyes. Really frustrating that I can’t exchange it since its everywhere out of stock here.
Here’s a picture of mine:
It doesn’t get better, you just cope and get used to it ?

Good luck finding a uniform screen and flush fitting SIM card tray. might as well also add the panel gap around the top or bottom to that list as well 😂

I have been contact apple support regarding this issue and they told me this was software issue

Wow, it’s remarkable that my 11 PM and the 13 PM I used to have exhibit the same pattern of tinting as yours did. The 11 PM does appear green tinted but we both may know that the eye don’t pick that up for some reason. However something about the red tint that’s very obvious as hell that my eyes will never unsee it.

The last sentence 💯.

Still far from ideal but the one on the right looks much better, lucky you.

these are my 13pm , auto brightness on , true tone on lowest brightness. ngl all these testing is messing with my eyes.
