Mini 512gb (except starlight) for T-Mobile is hovering between Oct 24-Nov 24. That’s what it was when I placed an order for mine a little before lunch on preorder day.

I have to say I'm really not disappointed to this date with my iPhone Xs.. quite nice to be doing an upgrade really for the features and not because things were getting sluggish or battery was dying.

I think the main turning point for the battery and folks that had poor performance was pre dedicated ML cores as the CPU intensity of those tasks has got to be pretty brutal. It just goes to show that a 3 year old phone with the first gen of those things makes a huge difference.

Going for the 13 Pro though, not Max, because of the Camera capability and the 120Hz display. The one thing my old phone does a lot though is wake and start tapping on stuff if in my pocket out for a brisk walk.. I'm hoping this is just some remnant of the force touch which got 'disabled' ofc in a later OS upgrade but that somewhat peeved me at the time because it was one of the differentiators that I used to choose the Xs over the Xr at the time.

I think it comes to the stores on Friday the 24th - so check into that a day before.

Those lines probably won't be as big - Covid Pandemic for one, and these pre-orders mean it is not really necessary - but I think some people enjoy it because it's like a camping trip tailgate party or something :). I sorta did it like in 2009ish - get up at 3AM and line up with other nerds and chat. It was fun. Go home with the new toy. Go buy aapl stock and get crazy rich. Good times!
I, too, miss the days of lining up for Apple products. Before iPhones I remember lining up for Mac OS Leopard and also the first iPad (post-iPhone, of course). The iPhone lines were the best, though. Fellow geeks lining up overnight, hoping the version they wanted would still be available when they got to the front, talking about the new features they are really looking forward to. No Trolls in those lines.

What I seem to forget is that here in Canada there were inevitable HUGE delays as the carriers were always completely unprepared and their systems were always crashing. One time, before Apple Stores were in my city, I remember a carrier store sending me home without a phone because they could not activate my account immediately. They sold my phone to the next person in line because of their faulty system. I seem to forget about this when reminiscing about those days.

Ordering online is likely more efficient though not without its own hiccups. But I do miss those days (literally) in line.

Yay! This news gets reported every year :)
Dats what's up!

Still never gets old. Anyone know what the pre-order numbers are in comparison to the last 3-5yrs?

This report of 'Lead time' means nothing really.

I want REAL data!
- How many pre-orders in total?
- what's the makeup or %'s of devices making up the total pre-order? I suspect most is for the 13 Pro, but I'd like to see comparison to the previous models lineups!

I am going to make a bold prediction, but I think this is the best iPhone ever made.

We got the iPhone 4 design I asked for I got 120hz screen I've been waiting for. Smaller notch. Check now if we can just get a better keyboard with a number row or flick keys and my wish sheet will be filled 15 software updates and the keyboard has not gotten a singlw refresh ever. Slowly gettig there.... But it's time.

Look to maybe backtrack, I will probably get this phone and try my best to hold out on the 14 and get the 15 which will be even juicer or a fold - but done to apples standard ✅
Some people say this every year and end up ordering whatever is announced 😂

Yep - it was lining up at a wireless shop, not Apple Store - and someone knew they were getting a box of like 40 or 100 iPhones kind of thing. But I do think it was worth it - I was a developer, and I always wanted to check out the new features - it was irresistible. It’s similar today!

The Apple Store closest to me is always crowded...even when there are no new releases. I can't imagine it would be any better this weekend.

I decided I’m skipping it this year. There’s not enough difference from the 12 that I can see.
Same here. I was going to upgrade from my Xs Max because iOS 15 performed so poorly in the initial betas (now fixed) and if there was something more than a spec bump. Neither is the case, so I’ll happily keep 3D Touch around a bit longer.

That makes sense. I would assume that the "seeking refurbs" will only apply to fairly current models. I will assume that the rest got for e-recycle.....to get that "used gold" they were mentioning :)
Phobio, Asurion all recycle their phones, i used to to turn them brand spanking barely used phones for that purpose.
