I care what it does, not how it looks.Anyone else think the size of these cameras are getting out of control? I’m all for improved cameras on smartphones, but at what point does the entire back of the phone just become a bunch of camera lenses? The 12 Pro Max’s camera is absurdly huge in every way as it is, I don’t know if I want it to get any bigger than what it already is.
In my opinion, the iPhone X/XS were some of the best looking iPhones ever, in part because of how simple and clean the camera looked.
exactly. i still use my canon for my pro photo needs. i never considered using my phone for that, but i'd love a good zoom when i'm hiking or whatnot.IMO all those lenses are a blight on the phone as it is, I would rather see them focus their efforts more on form factor and functionality, I think they're sacrificing a lot for this unnecessarily. It will only ever be so good without an external attachment.
I'm going to be so annoyed if they tweak the camera just enough to necessitate a new case. I upgrade every year and have always kept the same case for at least two generations since the "S" cycles allowed me to do so. I'm not excited about the prospect of buying a new leather case for a third year in a row.You know perfectly well Apple will require you to buy a new case with the new phone![]()
Nice! Fellow Canon fanboy myself (6D MKII). For me photography is a serious hobby so while a phone camera is great for point and shoot (and usually the most handy) I'll never use it for actual photography.exactly. i still use my canon for my pro photo needs. i never considered using my phone for that, but i'd love a good zoom when i'm hiking or whatnot.
Couldn’t agree more. The cameras are good enough now (and have been since about the iPhone 5 tbh)Anyone else think the size of these cameras are getting out of control? One hundred percent. I get the pro name for the phone, but using an iPhone in a pro photography setting is an edge case. Doesn’t mean we can’t want and need the best possible camera you can cram into this little pocket-sized slab of wonders.yea, i don't have any illusions about professional photography on smartphones, nor do i feel it's a necessity. but in order to have good quality pointandshoot on a smartphone — good optical zoom is essential.

People with giant Neanderthal hands are thumbing you down for some reason, but I agree with you.I have the 11 pro and it’s a beast. News that pro phones are gaining heft while the mini may be getting discontinued is bad news for small handers like myself.

Same. mobile phones will never replace the quality of a solid DSLR - and I know, they’re not meant to but I wish there would be less focus on camera improvements every year and a focus on battery improvements, etc. It’s handy to have a decent camera with you at all times but I also notice we’re not looking up and enjoying our experiences anymore as we’re so focused on documenting everything.exactly. i still use my canon for my pro photo needs. i never considered using my phone for that, but i'd love a good zoom when i'm hiking or whatnot.
