I find it easy to reproduce the issue on my 13 Pro Max. And it does not matter is is a long press or a short press. I have it on the charger right now and it is easy to reproduce for me. Likely this will be fixed in an up coming release.

Created an account just so I could contribute. Same here. 13 Pro Max. Thought I was losing my mind, it’s killing my workflows of quickly accessing my phone for work stuff :( hope they fix!

Thicker or cheaper screen protector might be a factor?

Mine is very soft touch to wake them up 13 PM currently using a Spigen EZ Fit Tempered Glass Screen Protector.

I’ve tried with and without, seems sporadic at best whether or not there’s one on the screen.
I re-enrolled into PB 15.1 this morning and thus far, it seems to not be happening much at all.

Only time tap to wake doesn't work on my 13 Pro is first thing in the morning, when I wake up and try to look at the phone.

Not sure what else to say, try Force Restart iPhone.

No screen protector here. No case either. Just the phone in my hand.

Raise to wake works only about 25% of the time, and tap to wake about 60%. Very annoying.

happened to me for about 5 times as well over the past two days. i’ll just click on the power button to wake when it happens

Happened to me about 3 times this past weekend. I don't need to restart the whole phone though. Just a quick tap on the side button usually fixes it after that. Hoping this is a software issue rather than a hardware one.

Well considering it's happening on different series of iPhones with iOS15 being the common denominator I'd say it's a software bug... My X didn't do it on 14.8

I’m having this issue as well on my iPhone 13 Pro. But toggling Tap to Wake makes it work again. I noticed it usually happens in cold environment. My room gets really cold at night. Not sure if that’s the cause or a bug in iOS 15.

I am having the exact same issue...

Did a soft reset this morning so hopefully this will resolve the issue, anyone having it on a device that is not current gen?

This has happened a few times on my 13 pro. I was also having the same problem with my 12 pro.

I have found that if the phone has been placed face down for some time, this is when the issue arises for me!

Not sure if this is the case for others?

If I leave it turned back over for a few minutes it then works as normal, accelerometer issue?
