Just spoke with Apple Support who confirmed they had received multiple enquiries relating to the issue:

"Got it thanks! Please give me a few minutes to check this here on my end. As I think we've been receiving multiple contacts regarding the same issue."

"Thank you so much for waiting. I really do appreciate it. Upon carefully checking, this concern is now being reviewed by our engineering team to have this issue addressed. The fix should be included in the upcoming software rereleases. Thank you so much for bringing this up just so we can track on how many users are currently affected so we'll be able to release the latest updates as soon as possible."

"No need to worry about the hardware since most issues are only from the software itself."

Periodically.

Most often than not its when there is a notification on the lock screen or something else like, now playing music controls.

I see the unlock animation but unable to swipe up, or unable to use the music controls. But it does register the clicks.

ie. Controls for Apple TV on the iPhone lock screen. I press the vol up or down buttons or swipe the vol control on the lock screen. The UI doesn't refresh but the vol does change on the Apple TV

Came to post the same as well.

13 Pro

pretty sure it was happening before and after the screen protector.

pick phone up - screen is off - tap phone - screen doesn’t turn on. However I only notice this a few times a day but it’s annoying.

No problems here. I have a UniqueMe tempered glass screen protector on it. It has been working perfectly.

This just happened to my 13 pro max. I touch the screen, doesn’t do anything. Only way to wake the phone up is to push the side button. I did reboot earlier this morning and this is just the first occurrence I had with this issue just now. I hope Apple is aware of this bug and hopefully fixes it. I still have till Friday of next week.

However, it’s back to normal after a few minutes. Not sure what caused this.

15.1 Public Beta 2 has fixed it for me. Haven’t had an issue since installing it earlier today. Prior to that, nothing worked. Not restarting. Not resetting. But PB2 for me, anyways, has fixed it. 😎

Same happening on my ip13 pm. Sometimes raise to wake doesn’t work as well. Is this hardware or software issue?:oops:

Has happened twice so far on my day old 13mini. Never once happened on my 12mini. I suppose they’ll fix it. They were quick to fix the issue with the 12mini Lock Screen last year.

Happened to me last night. No screen protector. I wasn’t charging the phone. I had to restart to get Tap to Wake to respond.

Happened to me for the first time last night. I don’t use a screen protector. The only way that I got Tap to Wake to work again was by restarting the phone.

Happened to me last week but I didn’t restart, I just let it go and couple of minutes later it was working. I did notice that it happen When my phone was connected to wireless carplay, that’s the only time I noticed but I dont’ think that would cause the issue for me.
