Maybe a question for those Apple Watch Ultra people but how does the Titanium fare when it comes to scratching/dings/nicks/etc?

I have to say, I'm unimpressed with the dull look of the Ultra's body compared to the SS of my AW7 so I'm wondering if the 15 Pro might visually look "cheaper" when it comes out? Unless it will be polished?
I bang my Ultra quite a bit between having young kids, building stuff (decks, assembling things, etc) and I am really impressed with not just the titanium durability, but also the sapphire glass. nearly 10 months with the Ultra and I've no complaints. I'm very much looking forward to a titanium iPhone.

Would be good if it didn't have that eyesore Dynamic Trashland.

Yeah still not sold on DI. This video doesn’t show biggest downside for me (and reason why I stuck with 13P and returned 14P at launch) - DI takes up way more screen space whilst scrolling in Safari. Maybe not so much of an issue for Pro Max but quite significant for Pro screen content. I know eventually I will have to upgrade (in past I upgraded every year) but my 13P is running great, I love the SB color, and don’t see any new features that are compelling me to upgrade this year. Maybe if they offered a great new color (shallow, I know) but I don’t like (at all) the off-red that seems to be 2015’s featured color for pro models.

There was a time where upgrading every other generation meant substantial upgrades. Now I feel like most folks can get away with upgrading every 3 years without missing much.
I bought the X, then the 12 pro, gave that to me mum and got a 13. The phones are all bordering identical.

If you want to feel like anew phone feeling get a flip 5 or something. iOS is just too good. But the hardware on the flips is just next level.

I thought the same thing, however now that it's here my 11PM is totally fine so I'm wondering if I wait until next year... haha
I'm actually kind of in the same boat. Even though I said "USB-C" would be the impetus for me finally upgrading, the fact is that my lightning port on my 11 Pro Max has been hosed for at least a year -- I recharge wirelessly and my truck supports wireless Apple Carplay. I've gotten along fine without even a lightning port for so long that the USB-C port on the upcoming iPhone is less of a motivator than it used to be. Maybe I should just wait a couple more years...

Brothers in arms!

I doubt I'll upgrade, this phone has no issues, I've changed the battery but that's it.

How are you doing this? Do you not have battery degredation? Are you replacing the battery or maybe just are not a heavy phone user to make battery an issue? I have a 13 Pro and while I love it, the battery is probably 2/3 of what it was when it was new. I hate having to think about battery....

Bottomline: Everything is bigger and better about the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro. You should upgrade!
I will if you pay for it 😆

In all seriousness I’m still happy with my 13 Pro Max and likely won’t upgrade. What is due for an upgrade is my 7-year-old iMac, I’m looking at turning it into a standalone display for a Linux PC with fully upgradable RAM, storage and other components.

I've owned every iPhone from the original to the Xs (that's 11 iPhones!). In the beginning, the improvements with each release were substantial, but in the last few years, not so much. After the Xs, I waited 3 years to upgrade until the iPhone 13 Pro. And I didn't miss much. This year there's even less reason to upgrade, as my 13 Pro does everything I need and the battery still lasts all day. So I probably won't upgrade until iPhone 16 or even 17.

I also have a 13 Pro, and after 2 years of daily use, my battery health is still 100%. I created a shortcut that announces when the phone is charged to 85%. Then I unplug it. So I barely ever charge beyond 85%. And if I'm home or in the office, I try to plug in again when it gets down to 50-60%. This is very easy to do and has made a big difference in the longevity of the battery. And with a 20W charger, it's also extremely quick. I think leaving it in when charged to 100% is what makes the most damage. And I never do that anymore.

It sure seems like it's working. I don't have 3uTools. And when I went to their website it downloaded an .exe file. Is this Windows only?

Losing ring/silent would be a major defect in usability. A button is too easy to press by accident so it goes to silent when I don't want that. USB-C is so long overdue it's hard to get enthusiastic about it. It's almost an instant purchase because of that alone, but I don't know if it compensates for the loss of the ring/silent. And really, is the 13 Pro an "old phone" now? I see others walk around with 14 Pros who had 13 Pros before and wonder why. I'll probably keep the 13 Pro for another 3 years, at least. It works, it takes great photos, it's fast. Nuff said. Overconsumption should stop.

As an iPhone 13 Pro Max user, I would really like to finish the day with 52% instead of 47%. Game changer. Take my $2000aud.
Yes as long as usage was consistent, you would still have 4% after day two instead of die right before the end.

Or you can see on iphone
Thanks. I checked the analytics log and it shows that my battery has lost 4.6% after 171 cycles (even though Battery Health shows 100%). MaximumFCC (original maximum capacity) is 3208 and NominalChargeCapacity (current maximum capacity) is 3061. So I guess my battery started out with a bit more than average? Does anyone know what MinimumFCC is? Mine is at 2973. Could it be when my Battery Health stops showing 100%?

Because that is what is discussed on the internet. The OP was comparing to help you decide if it is worth it. If you don't want justification you're not in a thread like this.
Shallow, either the product is for you or not one does not need public opinion to help you decide. If one’s wallet can handle it great if not then either something more aligned to your budget.

What next “Help me find a life partner thread”? Get real.

Correction, you don't need public opinion to decide. Let us do what we want and stop being a bother

Then you are lucky.
You don't use your phone much then.

My SE 2022
Your iPhone battery's real stats:
MaximumFCC (original maximum capacity): 2095 mAh
NominalChargeCapacity (current maximum capacity): 1826 mAh
CycleCount (number of complete charge cycles): 314 cycles
Relative to when it was new, your battery capacity is 87,16%.

Don’t “upgrade”, it is not an upgrade. The camera is still mediocre in the 14PM. Really no advance, in some situations it is even worse than in the 13Pro. Deep dissapointment. The dynamic island is actually worse than the notch. It is super intrusive. The tech. In iPhones, except the CPU, is quite lagging compared to what Chinese and Korean vendors offer in their phones. Buy a foldable phone and try it for a year, then decide if Apple is worth it. For me, I upgrade just for the battery and screen size of the PM. I recently got a Huawei and the weight, form factor, the battery, on screen finger print sensor, and the camera blew me away. Just the OS is not my cup of tea so much, but compared to that, my 14PM is quite mediocre, like a “middle range” device. But very expensive ($1700usd for the 256gb version in my country!!!).
I do somewhat agree with some of your points. I type this from my 13PM. I bought a flip 3 and it’s been the most exciting device I’ve owned in years. The camera is marginally inferior and I have taken many fantastic shots with it. Battery gets me through a day and I use it simultaneously with my iPhone.
iOS will always be better to me, but my new iPhone isn’t doing much that my 12 or X did, for that matter.

A new cable, or bigger battery isn’t going to get me to part with $2000aud.
