Every year I tell myself I'm not going to but then I talk myself into it by preorder day 😂Do you upgrade every year?

As soon as you have concrete facts to back up that statement….Do you guys really think the slipping dates is due to the overall demand of the product? This is one of the most minor updates in recent history, during a pandemic in which raw material shortages are bountiful. This is purely a supply chain issue.
Already into october 18-25
Every year they release a new color we get the same delays. I don't know how they keep making the same quantity ratio of colors if they know people will order what is new instead of the old gold/white/grey.
The pre, pre-order setup made it so easy this year. Remember back in the day when you would be ordering the phone at 3am EDT and the connection to the carrier would time out to validate your plan and you would have to start all over again?Same here. It was easy Yes 24 will arrive ☺️
I am admittedly very picky about my cases. I would very much prefer no case at all, but the phone doesn’t lie flat on its back with the camera bumps. My overall favorites are from Unicorn Beetle or Apple. The UB I had has a kickstand and great protection for a good price, but wasn’t MagSafe compatible. Torras makes one damn near identical to Apple’s own silicone case, and may work with MagSafe if in a flat surface. Apple’s case works with my car MagSafe dashboard holder and provides good grip (my main reason for a case after the bump thing) but I think it’s a bit pricey.Wow did not expect it to move that quickly. Guess the preorder preorder one button thing was a good idea I get my phone next Friday.
whats a good case for it that would be available
DependDo you want to download 4GB movies on demand over cellular? (which isn't free)
I thought that too, then tapped on the “for you” button and bam, there was the pre-order ready for the one-button check out.I did the pre order option couple days ago and was supposed to just press one button and order it but the stupid option never showed up on my Apple Store app this morning so had to do it all over again.
Not when the alternative for the latest phone is one from Samsung who’s only new feature is a screen that creases and costs $2000. 😉
Well some people are excited about their new iPhone and they want to tell people all about it….as a matter of fact I think that’s the majority here.Such a truly great point lol
Yes, read back through the threadCan someone help me understand what you're doing with your phone that requires 1TB?
Miami seems to have release day stock, you can preorder and pick it up that day.Already into october 18-25
I think it was a little tongue in cheekWell some people are excited about their new iPhone and they want to tell people all about it….as a matter of fact I think that’s the majority here.
People who assemble iPhones "work hard". People that buy iPhones DON'T.What’s wrong with that? People work hard for their money and have the right to buy what they like. In my case, I like buying high end designer goods. To each their own, I guess. . .

There's a difference between 12hr shifts at >$2hr and dropping around 1000 bucks to take pics of $20 hamburgers.
Apple today opened pre-orders for all four iPhone 13 models through its website and the Apple Store app, and estimated delivery times are already slipping into October for Pro models with the all-new 1TB storage option in the U.S. and select other countries.

iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are available with up to 1TB of storage, which is the largest storage capacity ever offered in an iPhone. The storage option is not cheap, with prices reaching up to $1,599 for the iPhone 13 Pro Max with 1TB in the United States. 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options are also available, with many configurations still available for September 24 launch day delivery as of writing.
The standard iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini models are likewise available with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB of storage, but there is no 1TB option for those devices.
Key features across the iPhone 13 lineup include a faster A15 Bionic chip, camera improvements, longer battery life, and a smaller notch. The two Pro models also feature a ProMotion display with a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz. All four iPhone 13 models will begin arriving to customers and launch in stores on Friday, September 24.
Update: In the time since this story was published, certain other iPhone 13 models, storage capacities, and color combinations have started facing extended delivery estimates into October. Discuss your pre-order in the MacRumors forums.

But the $100 hamburger is a $5 burger at the restaurant near the FBO and $95 of avgas to fly there and backor to take a picture of the 100 dollar hamburger.
Dude, I sure do hope you have another off-site backup of your videos!!!! If your home burns down, or gets robbed, and you lose your NAS, where does that leave you? Same for lightroom etc.As a future 1TB 13 Pro owner, I wanted to remark on my storage needs.
- I don't live in an area with decent cell phone service. In fact, I'm more likely to not have a cell connection than have it
- I spend a large part of my year off-road riding / hiking and again, no cell phone service
- I do run a YouTube channel and do photographer semi-professionally so when I'm off-road I'm shooting a lot of video (4K via GoPro Hero90x2, DJI Mavic 2, iPhone, Canon 5D Mark IV)
- I keep my music stored locally. I have about 350 GB of music in my iTunes Library and have never been able to store it all locally
- My iCloud Library is 1.1 Terabytes and that's without videos. I only store photos in there and dump videos out to my NAS in the basement which is 100+ terabytes with 60 of that full of video
- My Lightroom library is 8 terabytes
- The iPhone is slowly becoming my primary video tool so I'll go off road for 2 weeks w/o cell phone service and shoot hours of 4K, 60FPS video with it or import stuff from my DJI / GoPro to it to review
- My 512GB iPhone is nearly full but thanks to iCloud Photo Library, that saves my bacon quite often
- I have a few iPhone apps that have local maps (Gaia, BMW Connected, TomTom)
- I store all of my documents on iCloud Drive (2TB storage Tier)
So in addition to my 8 terabyte iMac + 2TB MacBook Pro and 1TB iPad Pro, I finally have a 1TB iPhone which is the device I'm primarily shooting video on so for me, this is huge. I can finally store my entire music library and shoot 2 weeks of video without having to stress about storage.
so for me, I'm STOKED.
I don't see myself needing more than 1TB for a very long time though.
For a taste of what that's like, here's a link to a 'ride report' which by the way is I think 250 megabytes to load the page due to how many hot-linked images. I capture videos, photos and GPX files for every day of our rides and then publish them - https://advrider.com/f/threads/3-blokes-from-new-hampshire-visit-colorado-and-utah-2020.1469006/
Taking a step way back in time, I used to always buy the largest iPod too. I find a way to fill up disks. Now that the newest cameras can shoot 8K/5.6K, I may end up having to buy a new SSD based NAS soon that's 10GB ethernet.
I remember those days, and the website crashing. Then when the phones did arrive you couldn't use it because the carrier's systems where crashing from all the activations! The pre, pre-order setup made it so easy this year. Remember back in the day when you would be ordering the phone at 3am EDT and the connection to the carrier would time out to validate your plan and you would have to start all over again?
There still seems to be stock for in store pickup release day.Looks like all models have slipped into mid October now
