I have an XR, with the Intel modem. The reception at home is mediocre at best, with numerous people on the other line telling me that I'm cutting out. Supposedly the Canadian Intel modems in the XR were problematic. For myself, I'm very much looking forward to the new Qualcomm modems and better reception.
I guess I am lucky then, I have no issues with my XR.

I’m upgrading from the XR this year, but only because I want the 13 Mini (a change in size).
Like you said, the XR is still very, very fast at everything I do. Even at 3 years old, battery life is still “all day” (6-7 hours SOT) and battery health is 89% because I charge overnight using a 5W charger. 👍

Some people are going to say maybe I am a light user and don’t need the newest phone because I don’t have “pro” needs, but what exactly is that? I see the term “pro user” all the time and it sounds like a lame excuse to justify an upgrade or an over-purchase. 😂 I’m a “professional”, use my phone for work purposes, take photos and videos, and…..well, does that make me a “pro user”?

Anyway I’ll enjoy my new Mini, and I hope I keep it longer than my XR. Great phone, but too wide. Otherwise, I’ll return it for a 13 Pro.

I'm really surprised Apple didn't bring back touch id and call this the Pandemic Phone. Using FACE ID with a mask on Suuuuuck!
