Just a few months away. (which is crazy because I feel like I just got the 12 Pro Max)

And you'll upgrade from the 12 Pro Max to the 13?
Can I ask why? Doesn't seem like there would be much of an upgrade.

I'm still using an X and don't think I'll be updating, sure I can get another year or 2 out of this one.
No issue if you do upgrade I was just curious

Looks like they finally fixed a major annoyance looking at those drawings. The volume buttons have been shifted up with the volume down button being placed in line with the power button (well, at least for the mini, and ever so slightly for the other). So now when you turn off your phone with one hand, you won’t accidentally take a snap shot. Give that engineer a raise! Too bad no one is buying the mini....

Please let that larger camera module indicate higher megapixels... either way I'm sure it's an improvement. Likely it's just larger pixel size and better color reproduction (in low light, with less noise), but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Great to see the iPhone 13 Pro is getting the same camera module as the Pro Max, the difference between the 12 and 12 Pro wasn't big enough for most to justify the upgrade, so Apple probably took note and is looking to increase sales of the Pro line.

The current resolution of the lidar is terrible. There are apps that let you map 3D objects with the lidar or machine learning and do it with the optical camera and the camera does a way better job with higher polygon counts (for lack of better term). The lidar seems only useful for AR to tell that an object is in front of another but it’s too low resolution for much else.

Was forced to NOT upgrade from 11 Pro Max to 12 Pro Max due to lockdown in the UK. Don't really feel I missed out on anything and as I'm on the upgrade program I'll own my 11 in a month. Will go with the 13 tho, but that bump is getting bonkers

Apple supposed to be disappointed 12 mini sales...

Just a suggestion from a friend who bought one and his partner bought a 12 Pro Max: why arent the cameras as good?

If they had made the mini a Pro mini with better camera perhaps sales wouldnt have been so low.
Some people like small phones that dont skimp out.

I'd be trying that next iteration and see if sales improve.

And if they dont, just leave the 12 mini and 13 mini Pro in the lineup for the few who just want a smaller cheaper phone when the 14s come out.

If they get thru 18 months without damage youve done well.

That's with with them releasing the Gen 2 SE a few months before the Mini and releasing the Mini a month after the 12/12 Pro. It's like they did everything possible for it not to sell.

This is very interesting. So the mini is in the Top 10 of smartphones sold yet somehow it's a failure?

The 12 Pro isn't even on the list!

Yep, that’s what I immediately thought. It is so cool that the 13 mini will have much better cameras... Hopefully with the new sensor-shift image stabilization system. Wow, I’m really excited and can’t wait for september to come!!! I think this is the first time I know I am purchasing an iPhone months before, and I know exactly which one I am getting. No doubts. No more “waiting for the next year’s one” because this is the last one with this size.

I want to trade in my X in the new couple of years but I cringe at the thought of paying around $1,000 again. Yes, I know I don't have to get the top model, but I keep mine for years and get more storage on them so I'm not up against it halfway through the lifecycle.
