Why do people buy a case with an Apple logo? One of the advantages of a case is that it hides the logo.
The same reason nobody covers a BMW,Benz,Audi logo instead polish the logo making sure it’s pristine and visible the ones to hide are likes of Kia,etc same applies to phones and gadgets

Just me that's a bit bored with this? The same old cases, the same old camera hole, the same old thin silicon coating that chips off and patina leather.

Some new thinking wouldn't go amiss at Apple right now
Possibly sarcasm, but if they could get back to making quality cases I’d be happy with that.

Since MagSafe the silicone case material is thinner (somewhat understandably) and feels less quality than the 11 series down. Easily noticeable side by side.

My 12 Pro silicone case lasted maybe 6 months before looking like garbage. I bought my girlfriend a 12 Pro leather case and 12 months later she’s very unhappy with how it held up.

This would be acceptable if these cases were 20-30$. But no, they’re 50-60. I since go caseless, and will be buying her an otterbox MagSafe case this year.

You know what would be nice? A leather product red case. I had a silicone one and they suck because they are always difficult to get out of my pocket. Also a iPhone pro product red would be nice too.
I had a red leather case for my iPhone X, I gave it to my dad and he dropped his from the 2nd floor balcony, the leather was too slippery for him. As long as the red-toned iPhones continue to match the SE, 11, or 13 shades, I'll welcome a Pro. The iPhone 12 red looks terrible to me... I'd like to see some orange iPhone, the Xr salmon was close.

I don't know for sure, but size is definitely a factor. If you buy a new phone and it fails to fit in a slot, holder, or dock in your car, then that's not doing anyone favors.

Same thing with any other accessories too. If it won't connect to your home stereo, or a dock, then in my eyes, Apple isn't doing me any favors.

I guess this will all change when we finally get to a point where iphones and tablets don't have any external connections at all. Then, the "dock" would become nothing more than a flat place the wireless charging could occur, and the audio wouldn't be fed through a DAC in the phone, it'd be a audio bitstream and processed outside the iphone, with whatever flavor DAC a customer wants. Seems WiFi and AirPlay2 can accomplish this pretty well.

midnight blue looks nice as always, the lip actually makes it more sophisticated for some reason

Why is it important to you to hide the logo? The Apple logo is clean and appealing, not like Intel stickers stuck on laptops, which are ugly and intrusive.

Do you hide the logo on your vehicle? Your toaster? Your jeans?

The same reason nobody covers a BMW,Benz,Audi logo instead polish the logo making sure it’s pristine and visible the ones to hide are likes of Kia,etc same applies to phones and gadgets
Maybe it is a cultural thing, but here bragging is considered very bad behaviour. People will not get jealous, but instead think very badly of you. They will think that with bragging you need to compensate something like a small... or a small brain. The most embarrassing thing are cases that even have a cutout to keep the logo visible to other people.

At cars hiding logos makes less sense, as the car is recognizable anyway. What I hate about logos though is that they are basically an ad that targets other people without giving the owner a compensation in return. And yes, I usually try to get rid of logos on clothes. The problem through is that those logos often are sewn to the clothers in a way that if you just cut them off, the whole thing would fall apart. Getting rid of Nike logos on shoes is very hard. If yould cut them off, the whole shoe will fall apart, because the stitches that attach the logo also hold the shoe together. And even overpainting does not really work, as the logo sticks out.

And of course I would also hide the logo of a toaster if the toaster came from a brand that other people brag with.

The logo fetish of Apple fanboys really feels like a religious cult. Some people feel special if other people see that they own an Apple product. It reminds me at the time at school when some kids were proud to earn a Levi's jeans. Bacj then I thought if a jeans already is good for bragging, those people must be very poor. The same is true with Apple products. Bragging is always bad, but if you even brag with something that only costs a few hundred or few thousand dollars, that actually lowers your social status instead of increasing it. Would a REALLY rich person brag with a phone?

Won’t buy if it’s not usb C. Thanks for listening to my rant.
I think I'm sort of with you. I have an 11 Pro and for now it's good, except for my 64 GB storage size. I'm already offloading unused app. Just a bit annoying.

It would be nice to be able to plug in iPhone to any USB-C I have laying around, which is just from my MacBook, but still.

Little more than a day left till everything is revealed! Excited! Waiting to see all the new iPhones. Wish the phones also came in bright colours like the cases.

Anyone else irritated that pretty much all the cases now have a camera ridge? Are the days of iPhones that can lay flat on a table (in a case) over?
Even my mini13 has it
I bet that woulld be a goold selling festure. The FLAT PHONE!

Well under a year in my experience. The corners always chip away and the phone chassis ends up getting dinged around the lower front edge (has happened to me both with an iPhone 12 and now a 13 mini). Maybe I’ll go for a Leather Case for my 14 Pro, but I worry about its water resistance.
I got the same chips on my mini 13, mine in the corner just where the antena joins again, chip away on the silicone case, ding on the chasis. I actually bought another and painted the chip with black metal paint to avoid seeing the ding. 🤥🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Doesn't matter. In 14 years buying Apple products, Magsafe wallet must be the worst Apple product I've ever bought.
Really, how so?

Are you using the first iteration released with the iPhone 12?

I bought it last year with my iPhone 13 (the updated wallet with Find-my), and despite initial concern that it would fall off, it’s been rock solid this far. I love being able to leave home without my full wallet. Then again, I’m a minimalist.
