Hard to believe that Apple has kept the colors of the iphone 14 series secret with just one day to go

Looks like Tim Cook has doubled down on security as he promised

I don't understand people. No, the photo isn't legitimate. Obviously. There's no way those would be hung on pegs and photographed prior to the announcement. MacRumors even acknowledges the photo is "probably" fake — and posts it anyway.
Yup, im living in China. Fake displays everywhere

Why do people buy a case with an Apple logo? One of the advantages of a case is that it hides the logo.
Oh you are wrong. :D The Apple logo is a status symbol. You want to show that around. Many people are even faking their older phones to look like newer iphones with fake lens attachments.

Just me that's a bit bored with this? The same old cases, the same old camera hole, the same old thin silicon coating that chips off and patina leather.

Some new thinking wouldn't go amiss at Apple right now
And yet for some reason 13 cases will not fit 14 and those of us trading to a new model will have to buy a new case.

I will never understand how status symbols work. Maybe somewhere in a slum in Africa it is special to have an iPhone, but in western countries there are hardly any people who could not afford an iPhone if they wanted. So if somebody thinks that an iPhone is something worth bragging about, he must be quite poor. He probably sold his car to buy an iPhone and now everybody should know that he owns one.

People would be surprised if they would learn how many people earn so much money that they could buy a new iPhone every day. But those people usually do not brag about their income.

Hmm, that sounds condescending.
It's simple. Look at brands like LV, Burberry, BMW. Apple as a brand is in that league. I'm sure many rich westerners are also flaunting their handbag or dress brands.

I'll never understand why they stopped producing just plain white/black silicone cases
Strangely, if you try to buy an SE or an 11, Apple has just the basic white and black. Sometimes they add in a color or two, but bare minimum is white and black. Sooooo why not with the newer phones???

Apple cases weight are always lighter than what else is out there. If we have a black leather case I may go that route.

That seems to be the case much more in developing countries like China, India or even the United Arab Emirates that increased their wealth immensly in the last two or three decades. In Europe and the US we are already used to that wealth. In Germany people even take you less seriously if you buy a very expensive car like a Ferrari or a Rolls Royce. Those cars are usually driven by criminals or pimps. In China the number of Prada stores is astonishing. Shanghai has some shopping malls just filled with luxury stores. In the West there are also some small luxury malls, but the ones in Shanghai are luxury malls with the size of a huge "normal" shopping mall. I have never seen that anywhere in the world at that scale. Chinese people really buy everything that has a famous brand name to increase their social status. I thing we in the EU or the US should be proud that we a pretty much over that. I always liked the fact that in the US even rich people war the same clothing like very poor people. Hoodies, Sneakers, Jeans, T-Shirts,...

There is one brand that was heavily damaged by the people who use it to brag with it: Rolex. Rolex really builds some really good watches and also has some serious fans, but some time ago every "gangsta rapper" bought one to show off his wealth and so Rolex really got a bad image. People now associate it with peoploe you so not want to meet at all. That is the danger with luxury items.

I’m still waiting for an iPhone in a color like this. For some reason, Apple doesn’t seem to like yellow or orange iPhones (the yellow 5C being the exception).
And on the Pros, why can they never have a bright color? Sierra has been the closest for me so far, and that even looks light gray sometimes.

It's literally $33.33/mo if you would get 14PM, and they do up the price and you do 36 installments. Maybe near the end of contracts before installments, it may have been somewhat of a status symbol. And for sure the original without subsidies was.

And with how prices for needs are up so much lately, I keep picturing people in their boxes shouting Look at me and my 14PM!!!!
