for those of you who have preordered right away in the past, when do we see updates to shipping/tracking info?
There’s tricks you can use to see earlier updates directly from UPS but you probably won’t get anything official from Apple until mid-next week.

Had a whole bunch of issues while checking out, including an error page when trying to check out. After a few attempts I finally submitted an order that got to the confirmation page.

Half an hour later, I now have 2 confirmation emails from Apple for 2 separate orders...so it looks like error page checkout actually went through.

Anyone have experience with this? I'm hoping it's not too much of a hassle to cancel the extra order (without jeopardizing the other one) but right now the Apple site won't even let me access my orders.
When I had ordered a Mac Studio I realized after confirmation that I ordered a different configuration that I meant to order. I ordered the correct one on a new order, and I was able to cancel the original order without a problem. I even kept the Studio Monitor on that original order. I have a feeling the iPhone cancelation will be pretty easy too. I could see a problem might occur if you are doing a trade-in phone though.

I had the “Almost there.” screen until 5:15 PDT. I was refreshing Safari and relaunching the iPhone app for a little while until I realized that I was probably putting myself to the back of the queue every time. So once through on the IPhone app, I had grabbed my preorder of iPhone 14 Pro 128 Space Black with ATT trade in. The whole verification process went great, but it failed on final Apple Pay payment. I tried to pay a few times and then finally cancelled. I started the process over and then I got an ATT error that I already have an open order and cannot continue. I tried ATT website that could not load anything. By this time Safari on the laptop had finally come to life at the Apple store. I couldn’t start from the pre-orders due to page not found when retrieving, so I started a new order. This time I ordered my wife’s iPhone 14 Pro 128 Deep Purple with trade-in. The process went very smooth with Apple Card payment. Just before this was finalized I had an email come in for the ATT terms and conditions. I was assuming this meant the first iPhone order was processing. Sure enough 5 minutes later the order processing email arrived. Yay. So 5:25 was the final order time with the last email coming in at 5:43. Both phones were bumped in the confirmation emails arriving standard shipping 9/23. A week late, but at least the orders went through.

Ordered a 14 pro 256GB silver for pickup. Quite a few hiccups with the ordering process. I filled out the Get ready for preorder yesterday and made sure everything was lined up for a smooth ordering/checkout process. First I had issues with loading the Apple store page. After a few minutes of closing browsers, refreshing, etc. I finally could get in and retrieve the saved get ready page. Spent a couple of minutes checking to make sure, selecting the store and time for pick up. Got a bit confused about the phone case being ready to pick up ahead of the phone and in the process, when I finally did the checkout it failed. Ok, retry. Pick up store and time and then it tells me that time is no longer available, although they were showing in an updated drop down. Tried other times, no luck. Decided to switch to another Apple Store and when doing the checkout it goes into an infinite spinning circle. Did it go through, or didn't it? Try on a different browser and the get ready device is gone (is this a good sign?). Seconds go by, then what felt like minutes and then I get a text message with an order number. Things are looking better. However the circle is still spinning. Does that mean the order was complete? Anyway, after several more minutes I was able to see the order in the browser, got also an email, etc. It looks good as far as I can see. I wouldn't describe the experience as smooth. Although I have done other orders like this in the past and I don't think it was worse. All in all I was able to order the phone I wanted to be picked up on the day I wanted in a store that is convenient. Got the confirmation email at 5:25AM pacific time. Good luck to all of you on ordering your phones.

Order history can be buggy for a while after a pre-order. If you got the email you should be good. Check it again in a few hours and everything should be there.
Yes, I now have two iphones and three airpods ordered. I guess when the page errored out on my order it was actually going through?

soooooo pissed, had upgrade plan ready to go, signed in, selected in store pickup and time and hit order.
Was changed to standard shipping in October.
Every year the order experience gets worse.
I called Apple and they said that they are getting lots of calls where you choose in store pickup and it changed to home delivery when you hit order. They have no explanation. She said that this evening they should be caught up and hopefully start seeing some of the delivery dates move up.

I was a little nervous because I wasn’t able to do the pre-pre-order (wasn’t available if planning to trade in an older phone to AT&T) and I know very well how much of a difference that makes compared to starting your whole order from scratch as soon as the store goes live in the morning…

BUT it was actually pretty painless! The store went live within a couple of minutes and I didn’t have any hiccups trying to get in or place my order. Apple must have really beefed up their servers over the past few years.

Only thing is when I was checking out, it said I would be getting the phone on the 16th and now on the order details page it’s saying it’s actually showing up on the 23rd. I really hope that corrects itself and moves back. Also, it’s saying it’s showing up by postal service? I thought iPhone deliveries were always by UPS
Very similar for me, but with a trade-in for Verizon (those fools are crediting me $400 for an old iPhone 7!). Checkout glitched several times and when it finally took, ship date was Sep 23rd. Well, I get more time to shop for cases while I wait!

I doubt that one

You shouldn’t. We know for a fact that Apple has been having domestic staffing issues since the COVID shutdown. We also know that Apple’s Chinese partners are struggling with imposed lockdowns right now. So the notion that Apple may be under staffed this cycle is absolutely reasonable and likely accurate.

Apple is now accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, and the AirPods Pro 2, with orders accepted through the online storefront and the Apple Store app. The Apple Store app is often the quickest way to get a pre-order in as it is typically up ahead of when the website comes up.

Pre-orders are available in more than 30 countries and regions around the world, and in the United States, those who used Apple's "Get Ready" feature should just need to hit a button to get their orders placed.

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are Apple's most affordable flagship iPhones starting at $799 and $899, respectively, but they are not as feature rich as the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which are priced starting at $999 and $1,099.

The iPhone 14 models did not receive design changes and use the same A15 chip that was in the iPhone 13 Pro models, but they do have updated camera technology, support for satellite connectivity for emergencies, and car crash detection, among other features.

With the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, Apple made notable design changes, doing away with the notch in favor of the "Dynamic Island," a pill-shaped cutout that can change shape and context using software, offering up notifications, tracking of background tasks, and more.

Apple's iPhone 14 Pro models are equipped with a 4-nanometer A16 chip that's an improvement over the A15, and they have new camera technology that includes a 48-megapixel Wide camera. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models have some of the biggest differences that Apple has ever introduced between the standard and the Pro lines, with the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max offering a more expansive feature set.

As for the the AirPods Pro 2, Apple added a new H2 chip that allows for 2x better Active Noise Cancellation and an updated Transparency Mode that can cut down on loud, persistent sounds like sirens and construction work. Audio has been improved, there are new touch controls, and the battery lasts longer. The AirPods Pro 2 are priced at $249.

There's no word yet on whether we can expect shortages of the new iPhone models and the AirPods Pro 2, but it is a good idea to pre-order right away just in case. New colors, such as deep purple, could be particularly popular and could sell out quickly.

U.S. carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile are also accepting preorders for the new devices, as are other carriers worldwide. Retailers like Best Buy, Target, and Walmart have pre-orders available too.

Customers who pre-order one of the new iPhone models can expect to begin receiving their deliveries on Friday, September 16 for the iPhone 14, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 Plus will be available on October 7, and the AirPods Pro 2 will begin arriving to customers on September 23.

Its the same for me. When I was ordering, the delivery date was September 16th. Within split seconds when the order was completed, the delivery date went to October 1st-8th. It is disappointing to see 2/3seconds of process can move the delivery date to a month.

Apple store servers seem to be settling down now. I've just been able to cancel the duplicate airpods I accidentally ordered because apple pay was hammered earlier and kept giving failure messages. Hopefully availability dates will improve as people cancel all the stuff they didn't want!

As I posted in the moment, the store came up on the app at 5:03am PDT (I’m in Oregon.) I had already set up my pre-preorder so it was a simple matter of a couple clicks and the order was complete. I bought the 14PM in purple and 256gig with a delivery date of 9/16. After that transaction went through I used two years of saved up Apple Cash rewards to “buy” a pair of AirPods Pro 2. That also went through with no issues whatsoever.

FWIW I’m using the iUP program and have been since Apple rolled it out. This year was by FAR the smoothest iUP experience yet.

Has anyone in UK notice that the price for the iPhone Upgrade Program has changed? I reserved mine and they wrote I would pay 81.45£ for the iPhone 14 Pro Max 512 while on the website they advertise it at 73.45£

No issues here. I set up the pre-preorder yesterday. Opened up the Apple Store app a few seconds before the clock ticked over to 5:00. Clicked a couple of buttons to complete the purchase, received the confirmation email instantly, back in bed by 5:02.

I don't think Apple delivers via USPS at all. It is UPS or FedEx and I've never had a signature on any Apple shipment.
it just says standard delivery. i’m not sure what that means but i assume once it ships and i can track it i will know which carrier it’s coming from

Seemless preorder process for me through the ATT app but I did have to initially pull up the order through Safari after it completed to see it reflected on my account.

First time I jumped in on Preorder Day since the iPhone X! 😄

Has anyone’s order moved up since this morning? Have we figured out what the “postal service” thing was all about?

Postal service disappeared from my order details but it’s still showing delivery on the 23rd
