The online Apple Store was still "Almost There" until around 5:06 am PST, but fortunately got the Fri Sep 16 delivery. iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB Silver. No trade-in setup - Gotta sell my iPhone 13 Pro Max with the same configuration by myself since the official $720 trade-in is so lame for 1TB, and I've only used it for 11 months. Last year I thought I may skip the 14, but the camera update plus the Dynamic Island are worth the update. I mean my favorite feature of the iPhone 13 is the camera, which fits my video-producing hobby. A big update since my 2-year-old 11 Pro Max. While no 8K recording is a bummer, the support of 4K HDR in cinematic mode, Action Mode, and the 48MP main camera update is definitely what I want. Overall, I may not feel like this is a big leap forward as I felt when upgrading from 11 Pro Max to 13 Pro Max, but when I got the phone in my hand on the 16th, maybe I will say I was wrong.

Also able to order the Apple Watch Ultra for the Sep 23 delivery - even though I changed my mind to cancel my order and switch to another band 30 minutes after. Went for the one with Trail Loop (my fav), but it delivers Oct 20 - 27 (I thought I was late in line?), then I saw the Ocean Band and the Alpine Loop option, and it delivers on the launch day. It turns out that the Trail loop is delayed, and the band itself is even delayed to November. For now, I will still keep my Series 6 silver stainless steel for formal occasions when I'm wearing a suit, for example.

Another surprise is that in the meantime, the 2021 iPad mini has been $100 discounted on Amazon and Best Buy. Updating from my mini 5 that looks so 2012.

Overall a smooth purchase for this year's launch. A huge upgrade year for my small products.

I feel bad posting this because I’m usually the one having trouble but I had a quick preorder this morning. Within a minute or two.

My strategy was to use my phone and iPad opening the store and force quitting the app each time. About a minute after the hour I got in. Just an FYI for people in the future.

Could the fast slip be because this year we are well into chip shortages? like the Covid quarantines that affected Chinese factories? these are things that Apple or the Suppliers won't disclose to anyone, but if they affected them then they will have much less available for release date...

I mean, how is it that I was able to start my order at 7 min. past and it was already pushed to Sep 23! I've never seen this happened before, so early into pre-orders...
Or they are just having record sales. There were chip shortages last year too and the dates didn't slip as fast

First time I'll get it on release day! Secured my Space Black 256GB Pro model (and its sillicone case) from the iOS app. It sure helps having it all set up the day before!

It doesn't allow us to set it up the day before in Canada. The add button is disabled.
 
Same here. Checkout showed the 16th and then my confirmation email and order status through Apple showed the 23rd through the postal service. I've NEVER had it delivered through the postal service. My app on my iPhone, iPad, and the website wouldn't load until about 9 minutes after, but I wasn't too worried when I saw the 16th on the checkout. Very disappointed and frustrated!! This has been the worst ordering experience I've had in over 8-9 years!!!
Really? I‘ve had years where it literally took hours before I could place an order. By comparison, even though the site didn’t open until a few minutes late for some of us, this has been the easiest experience for me.

Had a pre-pre-order, went in around 5:08am, changed color, applied $120 gift card.
arranged for pickup, placed order: iPhone 14 Pro Max Silver 256gb.

Received confirmation email - pickup in-store Sept 17.

Replaces iPhone Pro Max 11 256gb, which has been amazing. Never used a screen protector on my
iPhone 11, which has micro scratches from 3 years of swiping. Ordered a Spigen case and screen cover
from Amazon. The screen protector includes a clear plastic application tool that should help.

Went back to Apple and ordered green 14 Pro Max Leather Case - store pickup Sept 14.

So easy!

Apple Store app kept erroring out during AT&T checkout for their $1k trade-in offer, after coming up 6 mins late. Then when retrying checkout that offer wasn’t even available, no trade in options at all. Went to the AT&T site and got my silver Pro Max 512gb with Sep 15 shipping at 5:40a PT

not sure if the force quitting is necessary, but did the same thing. App worked shorty after 8 EST, webpage (which I kept refreshing) was 10 min later still stuck on the 'finishing touches
 
Had a whole bunch of issues while checking out, including an error page when trying to check out. After a few attempts I finally submitted an order that got to the confirmation page.

Half an hour later, I now have 2 confirmation emails from Apple for 2 separate orders...so it looks like error page checkout actually went through.

Anyone have experience with this? I'm hoping it's not too much of a hassle to cancel the extra order (without jeopardizing the other one) but right now the Apple site won't even let me access my orders.

I can’t place a pickup order for the phone. I suspect it’s because I’m using my Apple balance. I’ve never had this much trouble trying to order one.
 
Ordered a 14 Pro Max 128 GB Silver for my (adult!) daughter. Used the Apple website because I'm financing through ATT and it seemed like the app only wanted to replace my line, not hers. I pretty much got every error a website could have, including but not limited to "page not found" and being unable to sign into my Apple ID. But it's ordered and confirmed for Oct 3-Oct 10.

My daughter is more patient than I am and won't care when it arrives, as long as it gets here eventually.

(As for me, I've observed that my anxiety level is MUCH higher since the pandemic and it seems like everything--especially things involving $ or health care providers--is just so much more complicated and stressful than it should be.)
 
Anyone else in Canada trying to use PayBright for the 0% monthly payments? What an unmitigated disaster. Still crashing after over an hour of trying and I've lost my order (even though it says it's on hold) three times, and delivery times keep slipping. What a ****-show. That company should be embarassed, and Apple should replace them with someone who knows what they're doing. I say that with confidence because I've had time to research this - and I see the exact same thing happened at the launch of the iPhone 13.
