14 Pro Max has been noticeably better than my 12 PM, though the 12 had the worst battery life of any iPhone I’ve had since the 6.

5-6h with my 14 pro. So wtf are u doing to get that much screen on time

When I pulled the plug on my launch 12 Pro Max in Oct, the battery health was @ 94 %.I don’t think my 14 PM BH has the same longevity; already @ 98% in just over 2months 🤔

how has your battery been this is either a software glitch or a defective battery

14 pro max i get anywhere from 7-9 hours if I use my phone all day. That said my iPhone is rarely below 20-25% after each day

i dont gave anything off, i just watch videos, play games, on 75% brightness and airpods for volume I keep AOD on

I start the day at 100% and go to bed about 50%. Screen on time about 2,5h. I have automatic brightness, I use airpods, some videos and twitter. I dont use AOD, it drains more battery.

14 PM:
I get 8 to 9 hrs of screen on time with 100% charge and I usually charge when battery hits below 20%. I play mech arena for at least 2 to 3 hrs and rest is surfing net, watching insta and youtube.
I bought the phone on Nov 11 and now with 55 battery cycles its at 100% battery health.
My phone is on dual sim standby and with AOD on without notifications & wallpaper.

iPhone 14 Plus here.

Almost 12 hours from 96% down to 12% that’s 84% so say from 100% to 0% it would probably reach 14 hours, maybe even surpass it by quite a lot.

Usually I charge at about at 18% at least to about 85% - 90%, sometives a bit over.

no like the battery chart in the past 24 hours do you have a pic?

I made those pics about a week ago or so. But this is much more clearer, you can see exactly how much screentime I had over the course of ~39 hours and 84% battery life

For me the graphs that shows 24hrs and 5 days usage doesnt match in consumption. 5 days graph has always shown more SOT.

I usually calculate my SOT for the day manually by clicking on the bars and adding up the hours, which I think is more true in respect of SOT.

Not sure which one to trust

Disabling mobile data (just data) whenever you're on Wifi makes a metric sh17 7onne of difference to battery life.

You don’t have to disable anything. Just join a WiFi network and mobile data won’t affect battery life. And yes, the difference is massive… probably 50% extra usage if you’re on WiFi rather than 4G/5G.

Try airplane mode with WiFi, makes a big difference.
Are batteries so bad that people have to turn off cellular completely?

Anyone in this position should really just get a battery replacement. I was able to get around 6 hours of SoT (mostly video streaming on WiFi) with cellular activated on an SE1 on 15.7.2 with a new-ish battery. Modern phones, especially the larger ones, have a far superior battery life which should last around 8 hours on average which is more than most people require in a single day.

There is no reason to turn airplane mode on unless you’re in an environment that requires you to do so.

Extending daily battery life isn't necessarily a requirement or necessity, just an interesting discussion to some.
I find it interesting because it gives me a better understanding of how these devices work, which can lead to more effective ways to use them.
I read all kinds of threads and information about many features that I don't even use as of yet - or maybe never will.
