No, nothing that looks out of the norm. I’m hoping it just needs a couple days to adjust. I feel like I go through this every time, how quickly I forget lol. I will keep a close eye on it.
Try closing all apps and restarting. Some app might be acting like it more important than the rest ;)

Oddly enough, after updating my 13 Pro to iOS 16, battery life was on par if not better then new while being down to 96% battery health. On my new 14 Pro however, it’s definitely worse than the 13 Pro. I’m gonna give it a week or so to adjust. If no improvement is seen, it’ll prolly go back. I love the Deep Purple and the Dynamic Island but the camera was definitely over-hyped.

Some data points for the Pro Max in case anyone is curious. Started a trip at ~4 AM and used it basically nonstop (navigation, plane ride, Uber + browsing) until I was able to plug in around 1 PM. Times offset by time zone change. Seems ok for now.

iOS16 is killing the battery, not the 14 Pro battery being bad.

iOS16 on my dads 12PM, my old 13 Pro, and my current 14 Pro are all killing the battery.

Not sure how I feel about the 14 Pro battery… 100% at 8:38am, 28% at 11:18pm. Didn’t use it all that much.View attachment 2070447

See how it is after a week or two. Everybody’s phone is different depending on settings and content, but the phones have to index which can take some time. I never judge my battery until at least two weeks or more in.

Definitely will spend the full time I can with it before deciding if I keep it or go back to a Pro Max for the 14 series as well.

Upgraded from 12 PM to 14 PM. Battery life is a huge disappointment. Second night when overnight it looses 20% with background app refresh disabled. When I bought the 12PM battery was phenomenal from day one, only consumed like 3-4% overnight. iOS 16 or whatever is causing this it is unacceptable for a close to 2000 $ phone. P.S. phone configured as new, nothing restored from backup.

20% is significant. I had this happen in the first night. But the second night it hardly consumed any battery life at all.

Second night my 14P looses 8% overnight. In the same conditions my old 12PM looses 1-2%.

My 14 Pro is losing like 1 to 2% of battery every hour at complete idle, with always on display turned off (no lock screen widgets). How much are others losing just at idle?

Maybe im disappointed because i was used to the pro max.
I also know that it takes some days to settle..but it was set up as new, so im not sure what it can index/sync.

I always thought that sync line is crap …. You get what you get.

I'm getting about that after checking last night. My phone was completely idle and went from 100% to 92% with virtually no usage after 7 hours. I'm about to reinstall iOS 16 (again) for the 14 Pro...but this isn't usable.

I’ve had my pro max for exactly 48 hrs now, messaging indexing is done andI assume the rest of the phone indexing is done, so today is day 1 of my first real world test without plugging in the phone even for apple car play. Took my phone off the charger @ 7:50a today… we shall see where it’s at come 11pm tonight when I go to bed, and I’ll report back. I generally do this every year @ 48 hrs, 7 days, and 14 days. By then everything is usually settled and I can get a really good baseline for how my battery performs.

I've lightly used my phone today and am down to 40% just 8 hours from being off charge. Was similar yesterday, I had to charge my phone late evening - I've never had to do that with 13 Pro even when commuting and watching hours of video. Hope Apple figure this out and fix. Will try using the phone by placing it face down tomorrow when not using for a while to see what size of difference it makes.

I have a 14 Pro still sitting in the box and this was one of my concerns coming from a 13 Pro Max. I’m still undecided if I want to open it and set it up or just return it. My 13 PM is still really good I was just wanting to downsize to a smaller device. But, looking at the battery tests the 14 Pros are doing worse than the 13 Pros, I didn’t expect that to happen so I wonder if it’s a software issue that can be fixed with an update?
Still in the box?

Still in the box?
I decided to open it and test it out. I really like the size of the 14 Pro and so far for my usage the battery life is ok. After my first day of use it was 37% battery by the time I went to bed.

That use was mostly from downloading/installing apps, a phone call for about 1 hour, AOD on, messaging, listening to Apple Music through the phone speakers for about 2-3 hours, browsing the internet.

Will be interesting to see how it does when I’m not installing/configuring apps. Today will be a good test day since I’m not doing the new phone setup stuff anymore and can just use it.

So you have the max or pro? Or wanting the pro?
