AnsweredThis screen is Samsungs M12 screen, their newest generation. To my eyes it’s a pretty significant improvement. Not only brighter but the white balance is almost perfect. Everything appears sharper and there’s no color shift. The greys are especially impressive, extremely uniform with no shifting of any kind.
This was the same observation between the Samsung fold 3 and 4. (M11 vs M12)
I think it's a subjective judgement whether you find a given display flawed. At the very least they are flawed in that there's substantial variation between actual displays of the same model.I think that’s kinda my point. Threads about a potentially mishandled screen quality seem really to be more about perception, not the screens being flawed.
i switched to androidAnd yet, you'll be back buying again next year.
A fkin moron and his money....
So why are you here and why are you starting threads? Go to XDAi switched to android
If people’s subjective perception varies greatly, I don’t think we can conclusively say the screens vary wildly from the calibrated standard they are praised for. Unless I’m missing the reason the calibration test sites don’t mention high variance across iPhones that forum users report.I think it's a subjective judgement whether you find a given display flawed. I’m personally observing a significant variance between screens of the same iPhone model. It’s become a routine for me when upgrading to order two or three iPhones of the same model from different retailers to pick the one with the screen I find most acceptable. All of those screens, when measured, are in the ballpark of the spec (color balance, whitepoint). But within that ballpark, and subjectively, they still vary significantly. That fact, by itself, can be seen as a flaw. For me personally, it’s about picking the least flawed display. I haven’t seen a display yet that I would call “perfect”.If people’s subjective perception varies greatly, I don’t think we can conclusively say the screens vary wildly from the calibrated standard they are praised for. Me too, I got right more yellow tint low lightWell, I’ve noticed my screen seems to be a little bit uneven, like the top part is a bit more yellow than the bottom. My partner says he can’t see it.
Yeah just going by the pic, it actually looks a little worse than mine. Here’s another one I took with the brightness at 100% with night shift on and off. I’m going to Disney this week so I’m going to decide.Me too, I got right more yellow tint low lightView attachment 2071614
This is exactly what mine looks like, only I describe it as more red on the right side… but yeah other way around, yellow on left works too lol it’s the fact that it is uneven that annoys me.Me too, I got right more yellow tint low lightView attachment 2071614
I wouldn’t worry about that at all, most people can’t see it, apple even defines it as a customer sensory issue, as in you’re the issue, not the phone lol If that’s your only concern, and it doesn’t personally bother you, you’re good, and you’ll be good when trading in or selling. My biggest annoyance with yellow tint is selling your phone on later usually this gets marked down as a defect or damaged display. I think even Apple may do this when you trade in?
My 14 pm has an uneven panel. A bit more red to the right side, the screen as a whole is more red than my previous 13 pm. Turned True Tone off etc, it just has a color shift to the right side, especially at lower brightness. Not sure how I could exchange it at this point, no inventory. It’s a 128, I’m regretting to the lower storage anyways, so when a 256 comes up I’ll take that.
that would be difficult for me to unsee.Me too, I got right more yellow tint low lightView attachment 2071614
Yeah! It drives me crazy… in light mode became obvious… so I need to turn on dark mode to tolerate it…This is exactly what mine looks like, only I describe it as more red on the right side… but yeah other way around, yellow on left works too lol it’s the fact that it is uneven that annoys me.
It doesn’t show up on max bright, it’s lower/lowest brightness where it is an annoyance, and agreed, it gets bright!Just turned off dark mode, True Tone and night shift, cranked up the brightness and opened an all white image to check. Can confirm that it’s too freakin bright. Other than that issue the screen looked uniform.
I won’t be tolerating it forever, when some inventory comes in, it’s an exchange. I’ve compared to 8 pro max’s (display models and friends) they were all about the same and mine (ours) is the outlier.Yeah! It drives me crazy… in light mode became obvious… so I need to turn on dark mode to tolerate it…
I do see it in the cells in the settings app in dark mode, noticed the other day actually. But light mode is where it’s most annoying.is the red tint something you see on the grey in dark mode in settings app (the horizontal cells that outline the setting options), out of curiosity?
that would be difficult for me to unsee.
I wonder if regular Pro is more of a lotto than Pro max this time (or in general)
