Yikes! I was fan of this back when I got my Note9. Since than I hated it so much, because how annoying it felt to interact with the curve and YT for example. Thank god this "feature" is behind me now.

I hate these curved displays. Exactly the reason the Apple watch ultra screen looks way better than a ‘regular’ Apple watch. Would be a total downgrade for an iphone.

I stand by my assumption that the reason the Samsung Galaxy have those godawful rounded corners is a complete misunderstanding of a leak of the curved top-surface glass that the iPhone 6 had. The intent was to pip Apple to market with a curved-glass screen. It looks awful and I’ve never heard of anyone who considers it a good feature.

8 years later it's still a part of their biggest flagships which tend to be their most popular phones. So while I agree with you about them being awful, I don't know if it has anything to do with the iPhone 6, and clearly some people like them, or are at least ok with them. 🤷‍♂️

Curved displays that are well designed look great (this isn't and looks like trash), but they are completely a gimmick that does nothing but cause problems in use.

I don’t understand why, other than to show off non-destructive tinkering skills.

The esthetic is polarizing (I certainly don’t like it) but more importantly it detracts from function. As screens get bigger, if anything the edges should curve towards the user – unless you like looking at distorted content in profile.

I’ve heard once from that Samsung user it was totally unpractical gimmick. He told me he had to hold it on an open palm otherwise his hand triggered screen on sides.

Kudos to the modder. An exercise like this, even if it results in a monstrosity, is never a waste of time as the learnings can hopefully be applied to future mods.

This reminds me of the people who do ridiculous modifications to their cars.

I don’t want a curved desktop display or TV, so why would I want my phone to be curved?

He separated the original display from the front glass and installed it on a curved front glass. The OLED display is very flexible, so nothing really special there if he has the tools.

Like others said, it looks like **** 😂

I respect the skills. I once replaced the power button on an iPhone 4 and was proud it all still worked. This guy even modded the casing itself. Don't really hate the way it looks all things considered, putting aside the debate on curved screens.

I never liked the curved display on Samsung devices. To me it looks like they curved the screen only because they could.

No. Just no!!!! That was the worst gimmick ever and was just a calling card for display damage. Should never be a thing a thing again. Heck I don’t even find this mod cool nor interesting lol
