If anything changes from the notch I prefer just one circle or pill-shaped circle instead of multiple.

Agreed. The two shapes are a terrible design decision. What is gained with those extra 10 pixels?
Every time people doubt an "uneven" or weird design, it turns out to be true.
Notch, uneven speaker holes, grouping of rear camera lenses, mmWave antenna cutout, etc.
Some people never accept it no matter how hard history teaches them.

I actually believe this rumor since it sounds quite bad, it was the same with the notch on the MacBook Pro, also no android phone has a notch like this and we know how well apple likes to make their devices identifiable
Got there before me! It’s relatively small, perhaps this will be the iPhone 14 where CSAM is on the device 😉
LOL no way in the world would Apple ever release something so ugly and pointless as this. So please tell me what is the point in having a small space between the two opening? Oh that's right there is none, this is a ridiculous rumor.
Unless Apple uses it as a marketing ploy, putting the ”i” in iPhone. It will be a real Dick move if they do. ?

I really HATE this. A notch I can deal with, and content can be logically split to either side as needed. But this is asymmetric and UGLY and looks like screen damage, not elegant design.
I mean, who would want to watch a movie with bad pixels on the screen? You return a TV if it has holes in it.
Now you'd have to make sure every app avoids putting anything significant there because it would wreck legibility of text, etc., but since it *feels* like a complete screen then avoiding that area would be awkward. Or devs may just ignore the holes and treat it like a full screen. But then content will be ugly through there and you wouldn't want intractable elements to appear at that part of the screen as you'd be adding fingerprint smudges over your selfie camera.
I hope this is the crazy stuff they let leak to throw people off the scent.

I had no problem with one circle, then one little pill shaped opening. This circle/pill morse code looking combo is messing with my slight OCD. 😆🤷🏻♂️

Wouldn't it be more costly for Apple to manufacturer a display with two cutouts rather than just one? I don't think it's a coincidence that this awful pill plus circle design is reminiscent of the old speaker grill and camera layout of pre-notch iPhones. Either someone is trolling or someone at Apple thinks they are more clever than they are. Surprised there are no rumors of an Apple logo shaped cutout. Just make the damn pill wider.
I hope Apple doesn’t do this. Just give us the pill shaped cutout and if necessary just make it slightly longer to prevent this less than optimal combo.
You do know that this is in the same location as the notch and apps already don't put content there. This is just likely to be less wide than the notch allowing a little more space for the icons that display in that area. If you are watching a movie, the movie doesn't display in this area anyway unless you click to zoom the movie but in that case the movie is cropped on the top and bottom to force it to fit the aspect ratio.
When watching the movie, that part of the screen will be black and the cutouts will be just black areas within a black screen. It is not really any worse looking than the notch. Neither one will be a significant problem.

Every time something like this is leaked you get every joker telling us “no way would apple do this!!!” Like they’re some kind of mega designer.
I remember on here the disbelief at iPhone 4 design leaks, iPhone 6 camera design leaks, iPhone 7 Plus camera design leaks, iPhone X notch leaks, smaller notch on the 13 leaks etc etc etc
