I always liked the network name on the header, when you travel globally on TMobile, you don't always end up on the same network all the time

Sort of stupid that the percentage ever went away (whether it had to be overlayed or adjacent). This is pretty basic UI design that should be a constant. It shouldn't be treated like, "Hey, you're lucky we're giving you this" lol!

This just seems to be getting a bit messy and overkill for something so simple. I don’t see the purpose of having it back to the classic way over the current way on the iOS 16 beta.
I didn’t like the ios16 method as the bar itself did change so I went back to just the depleting bar. I would like that with the %age but I’m not going to die in a ditch over it

This was always a first world problem since you could always drag down the Control Center shade to see battery life at a glance anyway. We are really in a period of aesthetics and refinements right now with the iPhone. The areas they can probably spend more time really is Siri and Maps.

I really wish we could get some type of status light up there. A blinking light for missed calls, emails, texts would be awesome.

Good idea, and I wouldn't be surprised to see that. Unlike the old school BlackBerry that sported that fan fav feature, iPhone will have the luxury of an always on display and OLED with individually lit pixels so you don't need a colour coded light. A little phone icon for missed calls and a message bubble for missed messages are viable. If not in that space between the holes, then it's very likely to be below the clock on the always on display.

It works also on my old iPhone X

I hope it's sooner.

(As I look down at my iPhone 6s+ with my wired headphones plugged in, wondering if I'll ever be able to get a new iPhone.)
At this point if this is so important to you, I would just get a new iPhone that will still let you plug in headphones through the lightning port, before they make an iPhone that goes fully portless and you can’t plug anything in at all.
I don’t use wireless headphones either, not as they currently exist, but I couldn’t imagine torturing myself by daily driving an iPhone 6S in 2022.

That and always-on display are the two things I've been missing the most since I switched to iphone. I also wish that custom icons had notification badges but I kinda made my peace with that because I know Apple would never hand us that much control over theyPhone...

Not really, it causes a previously unnecessary amount of control center openings (likely in the thousands over time) for people who want to keep track. I'm sure Apple has telemetry about how often control center was opened without anything being pressed, AKA opened just to look at the battery percentage.

I've come to realize people are pretty particular about this indicator, there are people who do not care at all, there are people who prefer to have it but don't mind, there are people who miss it and really want it back, and there are people who get battery anxiety with percentage enabled.
In fact, I'd hazard a guess that there are likely some that have refused to use the notch iPhones because of it being missing.

If that's where you're making a stand, then probably not. There are plenty of alternatives, though.
