iPhone 14 Pro vs. iPhone 15 Pro Buyer's Guide: 40 Upgrades Compared

Thanks for this.

Yesterday all I heard was "carbon neutral." This morning I woke up in a cold sweat screaming "CARBON NEUTRAL!!!!"

That got the dog barking and the kids crying. I was dazed and didn't know where I was and my wife spent a lot of time trying to calm me down.

Then it occurred to me I didn't even catch what they said about the products. So now I'm catching up.
This post made my MR day. 😁

I owned every iPhone since 3g(except iPhone 11 Pro Max). I upgraded from 13 Pro Max to 14 Pro Max only because I got a $1000 trade on my Magenta Max plan. If I get that amount of trade in again, I will do. Otherwise my 14 Pro Max is amazing.

I regret upgrading my 13pm to a 14pm, much worse battery life and overall has been glitchy. I’ll hold onto my 14pm (and it’s leather case) for at least another year, not worth the annual upgrades anymore

I disagree with the 15 pro being a ā€œsignificantā€ upgrade over the 14 pro. Its a nice refinement. You can always count on the new iphone being better than the last but If i was to upgrade from my 14 pro i doubt i would ever notice a difference.
Copy, paste, repeat next year and every year after.

Phones are not changing anymore like they were in 2010. People who upgrade every year or every 2 years are buying to be a status symbol.

The iPhone 15 Pro succeeds 2022's iPhone 14 Pro, bringing over 35 new features and improvements to Apple's high-end smartphones. This buyer's guide breaks down every major difference you should be aware of between the two generations.

In 2022, Apple unveiled the iPhone 14 Pro as the successor to the popular iPhone 13 Pro, introducing an always-on display, the Dynamic Island, a 48-megapixel camera, the A16 Bionic chip, longer battery life, and more. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have now been discontinued by Apple, and as slightly older models, lower prices can be found for the device at third-party resellers. As such, some customers who own an older device may be weighing up whether to upgrade to an iPhone 14 Pro or an iPhone 15 Pro.

As the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro share a large number of features, should you consider buying or sticking with the iPhone 14 Pro to save money? Our guide helps to answer the question of how to decide which of these two iPhone models is best for you, and serves as a way to clearly see the all of the differences that the iPhone 15 Pro brings to the table.

Although the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro share most of their basic features, the iPhone 15 Pro offers a large number of notable upgrades over its predecessor, such as a titanium design, Action button, USB-C port, and A17 Bionic chip.

I figured I'd go with an iPhone 14 Pro to save a couple hundred dollars, now that they're on clearance. Apple has already discontinued them; but I figured I'd buy one at Best Buy. Guess what? iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro cost the same amount.

Used to be an annual upgrader but I have absolutely zero interest in this year’s iPhones. 9% decrease in weight, same main camera sensor, action button that doesn’t really change anything.. is it worth another $600+ (not including tax)?

Buying out my 14 PM on the iUP and waiting to see what the 16 PM is like.
I used to be an annual upgrader also. Back in 2008 I upgraded from the iPhone to the iPhone 3G.

When the 3GS came out in 2009, I REALLY wanted that compass, but I decided I could go two years with the same phone, and I've been an every-other-year upgrader since then. One time I kept my phone for three years.

Is this the year that everyone who is an annual upgrader decides to stop doing that? I doubt it. Some people stopped last year, and some the year before that. Every year it seems that there are people announcing that THIS is the update that is too minor to warrant their spending the extra money. Were they right and you were wrong in those previous years? Nah. It's your money, and if you wanted that upgrade and don't want this one, it's your decision, just as it was their decision not to be impressed by last year's upgrade, even though you apparently were.

I am usually on a 2yr upgrade cycle, but I remain on the fence over upgrading from a 13 Pro.

Same here with the 13 Pro, I feel I'm good for another year, if not two! Still get great battery life, and it's just a solid phone overall.

For my wife with the 11 Pro, who didn't want a heavier phone last year, this is now a no-brainer... except for the all the USB-C cables we'll have to buy!

Is there a good/safe/reliable place to purchase an iphone 14 pro now, presumably at a lower price point than what it was last week?
The link at Costco seems to be dead now.

The era of the annual upgrades I feel is largely over
I'm still on iPhone 8 Plus ;), but it looks like it may finally be time for an upgrade to iPhone 15 Pro, especially since the 8 is not getting iOS 17. I always preferred a matte finish, so it's great to see they switched from the shiny stainless steel to titanium on the Pro models.
It was a great phone, got it in 2017 and battery health is at 80%.

Is mother nature proud for keeping it this long?

Was going to upgrade to a 14pro if the 15's colors were terrible-- but the combination of terrible colors, no major upgrade, and the discontinuation of the 14pro (loved that purple!) makes it an easy decision to hang on to my old phone for another year. Maybe next time they'll have something significant. or maybe they'll have decent colors.

Oh yeah, the fact that they wouldn't do the payment plan unless you had a major carrier also really made it an easy decision not to buy a new iPhone.

Lots of differences between iPhone 14pro and 15 pro. Thanks.

I'd like to see this comparison for the iPhone 14 Pro Max vs 15 pro Max

Really - all these upgrades do add up to something. and YES we ALL KNOW already that some of the readers here might not be buying one this year, thanks very much for sharing that it is a big concern enough that you will report it on the forum. /s

So many negative ninnies -

We need a negative ninny filter on here.
Read more carefully - this comparison includes the Pro Max.

Did anyone catch the battery size/capacity for the 15 lineup? That was sorta glossed over during the keynote other than mentioning ā€œall day battery life.ā€ Maybe this isn’t something known until iFixit/others do their teardowns, but I’m curious about it since the 15 is a bit thicker than the 14.

There is no reason to upgrade your phone every year or two. Stick with your 13 or 14's and quit whining. These devices have come a long way in the last decade & there are other materialistic things to focus on now that you saved yourself $1000.

I have just installed iOS17 RC on my 14 PM and under Camera settings I can now select HEIF 48 Mega Pixels. It is not exclusive of 15 Pro; same i believe for Roadside Assistance.
