Maybe, just maybe, it’s time for us to accept that we’re only gonna see incremental changes to iPhone (and all other Apple products) for the foreseeable future - no radical design overhauls, just improved chips and cameras - until such a time we stop upgrading our devices every 1-2 years and force Timmy & Co to quit spoon-feeding us S-style updates and start actually innovating rather than just refining what the competition is doing 🧐

Do these analysts even pay attention to the phone market? Apple has launched 2 tablets in the last 12 months featuring TouchID in the power buttons. You don't think Apple would just go with a technology it already has instead of in-display ones?

We are likely to see Apple dropping FaceID altogether. They can't shrink it further so it goes in the bin. If it had any significance it would already be built into every Mac out there but instead Apple have stuck with TouchID, even on the brand new iMac. Coincidence?

I doubt that most people upgrade their phones every 1-2 years. My upgrade is from a 7+ and I'd guess that most upgrade every 4-5 years. I'm sure that there are plenty of iPhone 6, 6S and 7 models in current use out there. People upgrading from 4-5 years ago see it as a huge upgrade from what they have but still the old, familiar interface.

Face ID wouldn't be useful in a Mac mini.

They could put Face ID by expanding the top of the phone to have a small protruding piece.

The iPhone 13 features a new display with a smaller notch and a newly designed Face ID module. Is hard to believe that Apple did the investment necessary to design and manufacture those and use them just for one year. Like the iPhone X display that was used for 4 years, I think that the newest notch is here to stay for a couple of models more...

I still wonder how many of the notch "haters" actually use a notched iPhone. I hardly ever notice or care about the thing in day to day use.

That begs the question, why would notch haters use a notched iPhone?

I'm still on iPhone 8 Plus and I can't imagine having to type my alphanumeric password while commuting every time I want to head into my playlists and switch songs.

Apple clearly has a warehouse full of notch modules and they intend to use every single one of them
Well that’s why we have the SE or Apple Watch 3/SE. So they could keep it for cheaper models, and change their flagship devices.

Leaks now are all over the places. It may or may not have a notch in the next 2 years.. maybe. When I see leaked pictures of the next iPhones (which I don’t think we’ve seen those leaks in a long time) is when I’ll start to think about believing a rumor.

If you take a look at the iPad Pro 2021 design layout especially "round black boarder frame" - that's how they got rid of notch right?

;) who really wants to see the hole punch on the screen? Obviously they can put that similar design layout for the next generation iPhone 14 pro max using thin "round black boarder frame".

Apple will give us the best design and products, any leakers are here to hurt's apple sales and mess up your disappointment big time.

I just moved from Touch ID to Face ID and I like Face ID but would also like Touch ID for when I am wearing a mask. The nice thing about the iPhone 13 mini is that I can one-hand the passcode. I don't plan to upgrade for at least three years and it might be more like five given the performance of the A15. So Apple has plenty of time to get Touch ID in there.
There's a watch for that!😜

I never believed those earlier rumors about the notch. Like the iMac chin, it has become iconic to Apple. People know you have an iPhone because of the notch. For many people, iPhones are status items And they want people to know they have one. I believe this is part of the reason iPhone has the camera bump with the cameras placed as they are, also. 3 cameras in a triangle means Pro iPhone.

As for the iPhone sensor, I know a few people whose really really miss it. Face ID just isn‘t as convenient. Why now work a fingerprint sensor into a button like iPad Air and Mini? I’ve gotten so used to that button on my iPad Air that I miss it when I go to an older iPad.

You know I actually did see one post where the person said something such as "I made this a big deal for a long time but now that I have a phone with a notch I don't even notice it".
That's a pretty low standard though. My iPhone's display is slightly uneven in terms of colour temperature. It used to bother me a lot while reading text. Now, after a year of everyday use, I don't notice it anymore. But that doesn't mean it's a non-issue, especially when it's a €1000+ phone we're talking about.

Just a rumor at this point, but it worked to rile up the fanboys. Meanwhile I’m enjoying my phone that already has all the features that a future iPhone may have some day, down the road, years from now.

Does Apple even pay attention to the competition anymore or are they in a bubble??

Clearly this is what it is going to look like. :p
