After the Apple Watch S7 debacle, I'm no longer paying these leakers any real attention. It's clear that some of them are straight up making stuff up or have been fed incorrect leaks on purpose by Apple.
As a way to buy themselves more time? They've probably been working on shrinking it since the X came out with it. I mean, Android phones are working on cameras being under the screen, which seems eons ahead of shrinking a notch. I really think after Android phones jumped on and then ditched the notch bandwagon, Apple sees it as a way to differentiate it's phones, and that's the reason they've been dragging their feet. They probably know how to do things. I really honestly believe they plan upgrades years and years in advance, doing research on how little they can add and still have people buy new phones so they can spread out the upgrades (and thus any margin gained from new components). For me the best evidence of no punch hole, is the shrinking of the notch this year. Why would Apple bother shrinking the notch if they were going to ditch it completely the following year?
Considering the notch has been there since 2017 I’d say quite a bit. I’ve had the iPhone X, XS Max, 11 Pro Max and tomorrow hopefully 13 Pro Max and I still think the notch is hideous. Why is it so hard to believe?I still wonder how many of the notch "haters" actually use a notched iPhone. I hardly ever notice or care about the thing in day to day use.
Yeah buddy. Sure it isUnderscreen Touch ID is dumb and a step backwards
Yep they just make s**t up and occasionally they luck out. I’d like to see a dedicated area on the MR site that tracks how accurate these various analysts and leakers turn out to be. I’d be surprised if they’re better than 40% reliable. The next iphones may or may not have a hole-punch design, they may or may not have a notch, and may or may not have under-screen TouchID...... facts right thereWhere would we be without these Analysts
I assume you’ve never worked for a company that manufactures products. Apple isn’t making decisions for upgrades based on what they think they can “get away with” to keep people upgrading. In early development, they have a list of things they hope to upgrade, and as they get further alone, costs of components also becomes a factor, as does reliability, user experience, availability in volume, etc.As a way to buy themselves more time? If they don't have periscope zoom soon, I don't care how used to iOS at this point, I'm jumping back to Android, and probably a Pixel.
Don't forget the huge camera bump... Even that is there just to make a STATEMENT!Understandable, why bother innovating if people (I am including myself in that narrative) keep upgrading for some camera improvements alone anyway.
Also, you cannot tell me the notch is not part of their marketing to easily spot an iPhone in the wild / media. Just like AirPods are only available in white for the same reason
There is no way Apple would do that. They will rather keep the notch if that’s the case.so it is inevitably going to look like a slab with no notch like every other phone anyway
There wouldn't be both. It would just be a notch. Why would it have both?
While he has a decent track record for a few items, he is still motivated by views and following, more than accuracy. After Jon prosessor leaked the original iPhone design… looks like Apple decided to change their minds. Go Notch!
