That base 5 GB iCloud storage is really going to be stretched
This is why its always good to wait.
I prefer the regular model for the smaller camera bump, thinner body and aluminum sides. With the pro model rumored to get larger it's even more important to keep it around. Just wish it came in black smh. What's the point of a regular model now? The previous-gen Pro is basically the same phone (actually better in some regards).
I think the 15 Pro Ultra Max is what you need. So, what he is saying is that you should really get a discounted 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max.
I would be SO happy to have a smaller option, even if it's just a 5.8" screen device.
That way, the lineup would consist of 3 models: 5.8", 6.2"(yes, the base iPhone is getting bigger this year) and 6.7"

These solid state buttons were expected to be pressure sensitive, not capacitive like the home button.im not sure how you know. But i hope you're right. So far Apple's "Solid State" has not worked with gloves.
More dynamic island. Wont be upgrading to another iPhone till it’s gone. It’s by far the worst “ feature “ created by apple in the new phone line up.
The lower-end iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models launching later this year will be equipped with a 48-megapixel rear camera lens, according to Jeff Pu, an analyst at Hong Kong-based investment firm Haitong International Securities.

In a research note today, obtained by MacRumors, Pu said the 48-megapixel lens on these models will use a new three-stacked sensor that can capture more light for improved image quality. However, based on recent supply chain checks, Pu believes the stacked sensor is likely facing yield issues that could result in iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus production delays. The devices are still expected to launch in September as of now.
Apple first introduced a 48-megapixel camera lens on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max last year. The lens enables users to shoot 48-megapixel ProRAW photos, which retain more detail in the image file for more editing flexibility.
Pu was first to report that iPhone 15 Pro models would no longer feature solid-state buttons due to "design issues." He still expects iPhone 15 Pro models to feature a titanium frame, an upgraded A17 Bionic chip, an increased 8GB of RAM, and more, and he reiterated that all four iPhone 15 models will have a USB-C port.

In contrast, I’m seeing that as an attractive feature that I’m weighing on a possible upgrade this year. We all perceive the world slightly differently.More dynamic island. Wont be upgrading to another iPhone till it’s gone. It’s by far the worst “ feature “ created by apple in the new phone line up.
Out of curiosity - what don't you like about it?More dynamic island. Wont be upgrading to another iPhone till it’s gone. It’s by far the worst “ feature “ created by apple in the new phone line up.
I don’t think I’m upgrading this year for the first time since the 6s. Have always passed down the year old to the kids. They are on 13 pros right now. They may have a hard time accepting the same phone for 2 years. Then we can upgrade when all of us can have usb c cords for everything. They have 5th gen iPad airs. Beats fit pro and series 7 watches. Just need the phone on usb c and we are down to 1 cord. So, what he is saying is that you should really get a discounted 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max.
Definitely. By far the best feature of the new sensor is the (almost) 48 Mpixel data you can have when shooting ProRAW. Without that, it's "only" the better low-light performance and dynamic range that are evident. I really don't see why one would prefer the 15 to a 14P or 14PM without no access to the 48 Mpixels. The situation will be the same as with the 14 vs. 13P(M) case - there's just no point in getting the 14 vs. a (discounted) 13P(M). This will happen in the 15 vs. 14(PM) case too.Doesn't make sense given you have to shoot in ProRAW to get 48MP on iPhone 14 Pro and ProRAW isn't available on non-Pro phones. Unless they're just using the 48MP for pixel binning or iOS 17 introduces a 48MP non-ProRAW mode.
Yeah, it’s looking like Apple is alternating between which model gets the most attention. Last year it was the Pro models, this year it’s the non-Pro models getting the most significant upgrades. Which may mean the 16 Pro models will get more “attention” from Apple than the 16 next year with perhaps a noticeable redesign on the back with the camera. Unfortunately, it may take until the iPhone 17 or 18 to get ProMotion 120Hz.The standard iPhone 15 already sounds like more of change than the 14 was over the 13. New camera, dynamic island, USB-C and newer chip vs an extra 2GB of RAM.
if you just press them they are not solid state, as by definition ‘solid state’ means that it doesn’t deform, and if it doesn’t deform it can’t use movement to determine whether it’s been pressed.those are not touch... like iphone 7/8 home button or mac tackpad...you just press them
They'll unlikely to change. For example, oversharpening (which ruins EVERYTHING non-ProRAW) has been present since around iOS9 in all iPhone models. Apple seems to love it.Just get rid of the terrible post processing. Hoping they are able to change the 14 pro post processing through an update to iOS 17. It’s awful and ruins a lot of photos. Might end up switching to galaxy or pixel
I can only speak for where I live but here, last year’s Pro models would still be more expensive than this year’s standard ones. What's the point of a regular model now? The previous-gen Pro is basically the same phone (actually better in some regards).
