The average user upgrades every 3 years and despite what the tech press might think Apple also know this. Maybe the 15 might not be that exciting over the 14 but it’s a heck of an upgrade over the 12. If my contract was coming to an end I’d be excited!

I think the average user upgrades earlier than 3 years.

I don't get it. First thing I do with a new iPhone is put it in a cover. A great many colors and materials available. The iPhone color is not visible🧙‍♀️

i can see apple increasing prices $200 and carriers moving to 48 month financing
I don’t think nobody is going to move forward with a 48 month lease for a cell phone. 36 months is pushing it, and I can’t tell how many people on Verizon buy their iPhones outright because of their 36 month lease. I guess it’s attractive for those who keep their phones longer than 3 years, but who want to be tied into phone installments for longer than 36 months?

The weirdest thing about Apple's "pro" colors is how they consistently refuse to include an actually dark color. Like the MacBook Air gets Midnight, but the MBP only gets a very slightly darker shade of silver. It's so silly.
Yup, and you can't color match your MBP and iPhone Pro.

And my shiny new MBP can't get Midnight, so have to settle for Space Grey as the baddest, meanest, pro color. Space Grey looks outdated now. Especially with the quite thick 16" MBP, they look similar enough to the pre-2016 Retina models that I've had people ask me if my MBP is one of the new one's or not.

I'm astonished at how multiple colors are still a thing,
with e-waste, phone cases, and yearly releases....

I always got the white. I found it most compatible with clearish cases, but I can also see how dark/black one woultd fit.

still, this is stupid, from a company that is adamant on deciding UX for us, they sure waste a lot to give dumb color options
