Just want any show-stopper bugs gone from the line so's I can buy one safely in the new year!

Not really, every one of the 150 million plus iPhones that get sold in a year are e-waste. Which isn’t surprising because every electronic thing made in any year is e-waste.
Items are waste only when they are declared so, legitimately (legally).

I have inherited iPhones I still use as the head unit for bike bluetooth speakers, so even they are not waste.

Is it just me or do these look like bootleg cables? They look way to long and the current braided cables end directly in the plug while these end in a sort of sleeve like the non braided cables...

I have a bunch of Anker's braided black USB-C to Lightning and USB-C to USB-C cables that I equipped all six USB-C ports in my Telluride X-Pro with and they are fantastic.

I am so excited. Let me understand. I see a screen with some black while using iPhone, when iPhone on stand and when iPhone on wireless charger. Not to mention, the colors clash with my decor in the bedroom. Whatever makes one happy.

The only good thing about the Magic Mouse is the black braided lightning cable that comes with it, lol. I use that as my main charging cable for my iPhone.

Since people are going to need to get new cables including something like these would probably help people make decisions.

I really wish they’d do a bright yellow shade again, like the 5C or iPhone XR. I don’t like the pastel shade. I had the 11 in the lighter yellow but much prefer a brighter or mustard shade.

Finally a reason to upgrade.
I was going to skip upgrading this year - but honestly, to have 1 bloody cable for all my devices its tempting.... save my keyboard that still uses the stupid lightning cable. Having to have multiple cables in th car, my office, my everywhere - hmm....
BUT..... the below...
“We think you’re going to love our new color-matched cables. For just $99 you can put your color coordinated fashion sense on display”
This. It will probably be something like this.
That cord is entirely too long for Apple to give it away in the box. AND we already know they are putting a chip in them to throttle charging and data speeds if you don't buy an Apple certified cord.... because GREED, and giving the middle finger to regulators.

Now the braided cables are of better quality (it seems), so that is good, colors, I don’t care about colors for a cable…

Now that the iPhone is switching to USB C, customers have more options to get their cables elsewhere. I suppose this would provide a little incentive for them to buy from Apple instead.
Not really.

If the cable isn't Apple certified - you will get SLOOOOOWWWWWW charging speeds as the iPhone will throttle them the same way is does with non-Apple certified wireless chargers as well as data speeds.

Which is interesting because that doesn't happen with MacBooks or iPads (yet). They want their extra money they would be losing by dropping lightning and they gonna get it.
