Not really, every one of the 150 million plus iPhones that get sold in a year are e-waste. Which isn’t surprising because every electronic thing made in any year is e-waste.Wouldn’t sticking with one or two colours generate less e-waste?
"Well, we have 50,000 leftover yellow cables as it was the least popular colour"
Items are waste only when they are declared so, legitimately (legally). Not really, every one of the 150 million plus iPhones that get sold in a year are e-waste. Which isn’t surprising because every electronic thing made in any year is e-waste.
Swap them out between colours and see?People care about cable colors?
Yeah this is why I think this is fake.Apple would color match the connectors as well
Not necessarily. The variously colored USB/Lightning cables that Apple ships with colored iMacs all have white connectors.Apple would color match the connectors as well
I was going to skip upgrading this year - but honestly, to have 1 bloody cable for all my devices its tempting.... save my keyboard that still uses the stupid lightning cable. Having to have multiple cables in th car, my office, my everywhere - hmm....Finally a reason to upgrade.
This. It will probably be something like this.“We think you’re going to love our new color-matched cables. For just $99 you can put your color coordinated fashion sense on display”
Gotta cover the cost of the sensor/chip to tell your iPhone not the throttle your charging and data speeds....Well there’s one way to justify an price increase.
Separately? I’m calling $39. Only the best braiding for TC.
Not really. Now that the iPhone is switching to USB C, customers have more options to get their cables elsewhere. I suppose this would provide a little incentive for them to buy from Apple instead.
