It's not that colors in general are "girly," but they picked soft coral toned colors for that series instead of the vibrant jewel tones they'd used on the iPod nano's and iPod mini's of the past. And they very obviously omitted a black option.

A lot of people like black phones and they forced everyone to upgrade to the 5S in order to get it, and then came back and said that it was the "premium materials" of the 5S as a justification for why the 5C flopped.

To make it a bit more clear on why everyone avoided the 5C:

The 5c was one of the best designs. No camera bump and I love the colors.

Leaker Sonny Dickson today shared images displaying a selection of iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro dummy models, providing a closer look at the design of the upcoming devices.

The pictures showcase the design of the iPhone 15 in five different color options, corroborating a range of other reports from over the past year. As rumored, the device's aluminum frame has noticeably softer edges and clearly shows a USB-C port.

Apple is seemingly opting for a more muted, desaturated color palette for the iPhone 15 models this year. The latest reports suggest that the device will come in black, pink, yellow, blue, and green, but several other colors have been rumored in recent weeks.

The iPhone 15 Pro models, on the other hand, are widely expected to come in silver, gray, black, and blue – with no gold option available for the first time since the iPhone X. Other than the slightly more rounded frame and the switch from stainless steel to titanium, no other fundamental visual changes are expected for this year's new high-end iPhone models.

The entire iPhone 15 lineup is expected to be announced at Apple's "Wonderlust" event on Tuesday, September 12, with launch likely to proceed the following week. Key features for the iPhone 15 Pro are expected to include an Action Button and the A17 Bionic chip, while the standard iPhone 15 models are expected to sport a 48-megapixel camera and the Dynamic Island.

Clearly not at all close, both sets are really washed out and if these do turn out to be the real colours I’ll happily return here and eat my hat

I don't buy a new iPhone every year, but I always watch the updates and am interested to see what they do with them.

Between these colors and the Pro colors, this might be the worst year for iPhone color options. There's been no hint of a Product Red option. And I can't speak for everyone else, but I don't want pastel-colored iPhones.

Maybe this is all part of their strategy...3nm chips will be in short supply, so they'll start with bad colors for now. Introduce better color options next year when supply improves, then more people will buy then!
