I enjoyed all of the Steve Jobs era keynotes, and I enjoy the Tim Cook era presentations as well. I still watch them, even if they are playing in the background while I work. In a general sense, I like that the top brass shares airtime with people involved with the things being presented and demoed.

Boring, seems like Tim fears realtime customer response during the keynote.
It would be filled with booooo’s and laughters.

pre-recorded videos. the way they got away with removing the power adapter out of the iPhone boxes without being met with insane boos from the crowd and possibly forcing a U-turn on it.
Right, because it was ever going to be a bunch of booing customers placed throughout the audience.
Yup, that’s how Apple works.
It’s not like they have an almost 30 year long history of packing the first several rows with their own employees, and the rest of the audience with very deliberately selected members of the press.

I remember when tech wordsmiths (not journalists) went on a “Just The Facts” tirade against in person presentations. But I loved watching these in person events and the audience reactions to announcements.

Back then people were genuinely surprised because the rumor industry didn’t leak every new thing before the keynote.

It doesn't really matter anymore, there is no excitement or passion behind anything Tim presents, not like you could feel when Steve was here. When was the last time Tim demoed anything? What was the point of building Steve Jobs theater?
Did you ever see that video of Tim Cook waving the flag at that car race? OMG, SOOOO boring! He did it so slowly without any excitement at all, while other people who’ve done it actually seemed… alive and not some sort of animatronic

While I do miss the in-person keynotes (with the cheers, clapping and at times, suspense), I agree with several others on here that no one had the presentation ability like Steve Jobs did. No one even came close in my mind. I do think the pre-recorded presentations are well done, however.

Kinda prefer it this way.

I too prefer this way, but I wonder if they can't do a hybrid approach. The issue I had with the live events was they are not State of the Unions (Or I guess they could be from an Apple perspective) and you didn't need to stand and clap every few seconds. Having the speaker stop to let the clapping subside seemed to take the focus off the product. These are a little more straight forward.

They were never very good after Steve anyway. The pre-recorded ones are watchable, although the whole event can drag on and on. There should be an hour-long presentation, and then perhaps a two-hour in-depth presentation for those wanting more detail.

Sadly, the pre-recordings are no longer a novelty and come across as a bit too slick, too corporate and not quite human enough. The whole point of doing things live is that you are putting yourself out there for the fans and followers, and will risk making a few mistakes. Taking that risk was the humanity of it all.

Like the Apple HQ building, these pre-records can come across as perfect but a little cold.

Meh. I care more that they don't delay the release since I want to upgrade this year.

Wow. If I ever had the opportunity of waving a checkered flag at a Formula One event I’ll be sure not to let the cameras see me, for fear of being trolled by haters. He was probably bored from watching Max Verstappen win yet another race…. Put anyone to sleep.

Fortunately he has other attributes, like, you know, taking Apple from $153 Billion value to $3 Trillion in just 12 years! Almost 2000% increase!

LOL… F1 hasn’t been exciting in a long time, he was just matching its energy. Probably wished he was at a WRC or the Isle of Man TT.
