Well it took trying on 8 different FW cases to find one that wasn’t loose/didn't creak when handled at the edges or didn’t have a misaligned USB cutout. Only one of those didn’t do either of those AND didn’t have a loose sleep/wake button, so that ended up being the exchange winner. I want to like this case but man is the QC all over the place.
I tried about 10 cases in the store. All have the misaligned cutout. Tried to get a replacement through the online store.
When the replacement arrived the store after a week + waited for a few more days so that I won’t get the same patch.
Tried another 5, still all with misaligned cutout…
And now they refuse to refund. (Because the refund policy was cancelled a few years ago in my country .🙄)
What can I do..

Anyone with the fine woven wallet have a comparison to the leather wallet as far as card capacity?

I usually have two cards in the leather wallet and it is a snug fit. The exact same two cards in the fine woven are a bit loose and have even fallen out in my pocket. The leather apple wallet for reference is probably 2 years old.

I use the same three cards as I did with my leather wallet. I would say it is ever-so slightly looser with the FW wallet but not enough for the cards to just fall out. I would not use with two cards but it seems to hold two cards, too.

Been using the pacific blue fine woven case now for 3 weeks. Haven’t had any issues with it. I do prefer clear cases so I plan to switch to the Dbrand Ghost case as soon as I get it but until then I’ll continue to use the fine woven case.

Try the Spigen Valentinus wallet - holds 3 cards well very good magnet especially with the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case

I had an Apple Leather wallet previously, and now own the FW wallet. With the leather wallet I was only able to store 2 cards (comfortably) vs. the FW I'm now able to store 3 cards without any issue removing them.

When I went to return my black fw because of the cutouts and eventually decided on getting taupe instead, I said to the guy at the store I’m trying the case on before leaving and the first case I got had perfect cut outs. Few days later I noticed the creaking in the bottom left. It’d do it every time I picked up the phone. However… after taking the case off a few times and putting it back on it seems the last time it just snapped into place and I get no creaking whatsoever now. Strange.
When you say loose buttons what do you mean? There was someone who said it’s so bad you rest your finger on the button and it acts as if it was pressed. Both the black fw which I returned and taupe buttons have a bit of a wiggle room when I put my finger on them and try move it, but they have a satisfying click and don’t rattle when I shake the phone.

Re: button movement, it's the latter you mentioned; it's a "wiggle" if you rest your finger on it and move it up and down, as well as rattle when shaking. Seems the wiggle is within spec as nearly every case I tried had it. Even the one I settled on has a somewhat loose Action Button, though given I don't touch that nearly as much as I do Sleep/Wake, it's acceptable for now.

Only my power button has a minimal wiggle up/down but I never noticed it, very minimal, doesn't bother me

This is really interesting. I have a minimal wiggle room for all buttons apart from the action button. As I said no rattling and it really doesn’t bother me but it’s interesting that Apple can make such an inconsistent product.

My first Taupe case had button issues where id shake the iPhone and i could hear them.

But replacement and all other FW cases no issues at all.

My first Evergreen case had rattling buttons. Exchanged it. The second one was without any issues at first, but today -after a few days of using it- the Action Button started to move and rattle…

I think if you really want a FineWoven case just accept the imperfections and variations, there's no point chasing a "perfect" unit, there aren't. Keep one that isn't exceptionally defective and enjoy its rattling uniqueness ✨ or just go Silicon, those are always perfect

yeah that wiggle is the thing I was talking about in my earlier post about returning mine, it gets really annoying and worse as time goes on.

An update on my case. Today I decided to try some washing liquid on a wet wipe that I rinsed with hot water before wiping my taupe case. After it dried the results are…. Good as new. All darkening including along the edges is gone. (I kinda love the darker brown when the case is wet)

Nice, do you happen to have before and after photos after it’s dried up? Curious how stained it was before and how it looks after when it’s dry

You can check out my post on the previous page. It wasn’t much more different to that but it gives an idea of the darkening of the case (along the edges and the Apple logo) That one also looks a bit lighter as photo was taken in day time compared to indoor lighting in this one. When wet the back just looks few shades darker but gets lighter when all dried.

I got a FW case recently and I like it quite a bit. I still prefer leather by a little bit, but I’m pretty happy with the fit, finish, and weight of the FW case. I expect it will get scuffed up, but that’s exactly what happened to all my leather cases. After a few months they look pretty beat up.

The FW case is probably overpriced by $20, but then again most Apple products are.
