Absolutely true. My hope is it scales with memory. More memory less aggressive. But Apple can still keep extremely aggressive app killing in iOS 17 regardless Of how much ram your phone has.

Especially the "Pro" ones!Apple should not start with 128GB. All iPhones should start with 256GB. It's 2023. Come on!
Isn't the ram built into the A chip? They aren't going to make 4 different A17 chips. At least not on Tim's watch.Agreed, these phones with their chips are so capable yet Apple holds them back.
It should look like this.
iPhone 15 pro max base ram 8gb
iPhone 15 pro max $100 upgrade 16gb
iPhone 15 pro max $200 upgrade 32gb
iPhone 15 pro max $400 upgrade 64gb
This way everyone is happy, I’d probably get a 512gb phone with 32gb ram. Then, they could justifiably call them “pro” devices.
I thought the new rumor was no price hike for the 15 Pro (15 Pro Max may still get a price hike). What a disappointment if they Pro's start at 128gb of storage and there is a price bump.
Virtual RAM would be the solution. MS Windows e.g. was working with only a few MB of RAM w/o killing apps.Absolutely true. My hope is it scales with memory. More memory less aggressive.

Oooh, I'd pay extra for thatI’m predicting $100 price hike for the regular models and $200 for the pro models.
They’ll explain how the titanium was brushed by 16 year old virgins and the periscope lenses were polished by Tibetan monks.
So just take them off your phone when you want to use your phone, or go do something else. The thing is, by having the iPhone reverse charge, you can’t use either the iPhone or the device being charged. It sounds like a good idea but when would you actually be ok with not seeing the screen while charging AW or AirPods? There is a reason this has not become a thing for iPhone or Android devices.
Unfortunately, the aforementioned will probably be +$200. I hope I’m wrong…Apple won’t give you something for nothing they will do whatever it takes to retain their margins. I’m getting a 256 PM whether 6 or 8 ram or an $100 increase in price. Enough of an upgrade for me from a 12P.
From few good leakers, 16 Pro is exactly where the cool stuff will happen. At least we are getting full new array of cameras, brand new display (M13 or M14 OLED materials), stacked battery. Also LPDDR5X is expected and A18 with N3E which is nice upgrade over the N3B in A17.Can't wait to dump my 12P for a 15PM. I don't see the 16 being as big of a jump so not waiting another year and see my 12P decrease further in value.
You’re right - I forgot they actually started at 64gb - kind of crazy considering the price of the phone. Thanks for the reminder on this.I’m referring to the 12-series where standard 12s has 64GB base and 12 Pro has 128GB.
Because I want them on my phone. Why not sync them to iCloud and delete from the device?
You were claiming that everything has gone up in price. I give you an example of something that is not, which is things like memory and guess what … this article is about memory.
Being obtuse to be obtuse. Maybe this will make you feel better, majority of items in our day to day life have increased in price over the last 16 months. If you can't or won't admit that, its either you live off the grid or under a rock. Either way, done here. You were claiming that everything has gone up in price. I give you an example of something that is not, which is things like memory and guess what … this article is about memory.
Nah, iPhone 17 is where it’s at, or better yet, just wait for the 20.From few good leakers, 16 Pro is exactly where the cool stuff will happen. face it? sorry, not sure what you are implying.0% chance there is a $200 price bump for 512 and $400 for 1TB. If anything, we might see $100 across the board increase on Pro models. Face it, we are living in times where prices of EVERYTHING are increasing. This isn't an Apple thing.
Price increases are not an Apple "thing". Regardless of what this board thinks.face it? sorry, not sure what you are implying.
I know that, but it’s not being marketed. Likely for the very reason I mentioned. If it were really a huge benefit they would be trumpeting that Apple doesn’t offer it.Samsung has reverse wireless charging on all their flagships.
