8GB and the 3nm SOC is good enough reason for me to get one.
Either start at 256GB on Pro iPhones if prices go up, or don’t increase the price of the 128GB.
"Pro" now stands for "profitable". For Apple, that is.
Apple isn't about to give up those juicy storage profits so easily.

8GB RAM is gonna convince what, ten people who weren't already going to buy the Pro to upgrade? It's looking to be another unexciting iPhone year, but my @ss is definitely utilizing the iUP again anyway. Doubt we'll actually see a price increase - isn't that the same rumor as each of the past 5 years or so?

Agreed. Offering a storage tier on a device that effectively handicaps the device due to said storage tier is Apple earning every bit of the reputation they have. Makes no sense to have 128GB on a Pro iPhone.
One less reason to upgrade this year, in an upgrade cycle already devoid of reasons to upgrade
The non-Pro iPads still start at 64 GB.

That's the story I'll be looking for after the announcement. I'm considering just going with the 15 Max and not the Pro Max because I think it's overkill for my needs. I'll be coming from a 14 Pro, which I wanted for the dynamic island and better camera, which I don't really see since I have the base storage.
Why does the iPhone need 8GB of RAM? Could the rumored Siri improvements require more memory going forward?
128GB base storage will be a disappointment for sure. Especially in case of a price increase but I think regardless.
iPhones are starting to be like Toyota never change much each year only minimal changes and call it innovative.
