I was thinking of going 15 Pro Max 512gb but if the price hike is real then it would cost probably around 1650£ which I am not going to pay for a smartphone lol.
do you still use iCloud storage as well so it syncs back to apple photos?I would be excited for a 2 TB iPhone for sure!
I’ve always shot video in the highest format that is reasonable for the time keeping in mind that storage gets larger and cheaper over time.
Photography has been a hobby of mine since I was a kid. Live Photos are still one of my favorite features. I’m fortunate enough to be able to travel and like to take many photos and occasional videos on trips. All of these things require storage.
If you don’t enjoy these things or you think Live Photos are a nefarious plot by Apple to force you into larger storage then by all means enjoy your low storage iPhone.
I’ll be enjoying my 4K videos.
Absolutely! I already had Apple One Premium. The additional 2 TB for ten bucks is a bargaindo you still use iCloud storage as well so it syncs back to apple photos?

I definitely understand. Hopefully you can keep at least one cloud and one local backup.Ugh I just had to defensively spend that. My phone alone is using up 1.5TB. 4K video eats a metric ton of storage. My next MacBook Pro is likely going to have 4tb so I can have a local copy of everything and clean stuff off of iCloud
cool and one last question just out of interest as we have similar use.. do you have a Mac with a large internal drive for downloading originals or do you just stick them on a external drive?Absolutely! I already had Apple One Premium. The additional 2 TB for ten bucks is a bargain
Yep! I have a 4TB MacBook Pro. I keep everything in Photos downloaded and run Time Machine periodically. So I have iCloud and Time Machine. Amazon Photos will back up photos for free if you’re a Prime member. Ok, I’ll admit that it’s all on OneDrive too. I put a lot of effort into my photos and videos. Backups are relatively cheap. I always ask myself, if I lost everything what would I be willing to pay to get them all back. Then the cloud space seems cheap.cool and one last question just out of interest as we have similar use.. do you have a Mac with a large internal drive for downloading originals or do you just stick them on a external drive?
Nice! Thats my dream set up with a 4TB internal. do you use a monitor for it?Yep! I have a 4TB MacBook Pro. I keep everything in Photos downloaded and run Time Machine periodically. I just use the Macbook alone, without a monitor. I’m not much of a power user. I might occasionally edit a photo with bad lighting or rotate a video I started on the wrong orientation, but that’s the extent. As a kid I saved up to buy film and have it developed only to discover how few of my photos were actually good. So I’ll admit I’m still continually impressed with how perfect (to my novice eyes) my iPhone photos and videos are, especially compared to my old 110 camera. I can’t imagine losing any of my pictures or videos so I’m really focused on backups. I really wish you could “lock” albums against accidental deletion. Sorry for the life story. ☺️Nice! I had mine downloaded to an external on my iMac but I also had lighroom library which I liked doing occasional edits in but mainly kept it as it was another cloud back up. I recently cancelled it as I felt it was wasteful but you've got me thinking about it again.. like you said they are priceless
