Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 15 lineup in September. As usual, the Pro and Pro Max models are expected to have a wide range of new features, including a USB-C port, A17 Bionic chip, titanium frame, and more.

Below, we have recapped the top five new features rumored for the iPhone 15 Pro models.
  • USB-C port: iPhone 15 Pro models are widely rumored to feature a USB-C port, providing a more universal charging standard. On the Pro models, the USB-C port is expected to support at least USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3, which would result in the devices having significantly faster data transfer speeds over a wired connection compared to existing iPhones with a Lightning port.
  • Action button: iPhone 15 Pro models are rumored to be equipped with a customizable Action button like the Apple Watch Ultra. The button would replace the Ring/Silent switch that has been included on every iPhone model since 2007. Users would likely be able to assign the button to various system functions, such as Ring/Silent, Do Not Disturb, Flashlight, Low Power Mode, and more.
  • Titanium frame: A second Apple Watch Ultra feature that iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to adopt is a titanium frame, versus stainless steel on the iPhone 14 Pro. The titanium frame is said to have more of a brushed finish.
  • A17 Bionic chip: iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to be equipped with Apple's next-generation A17 Bionic chip. The chip will reportedly be manufactured based on TSMC's advanced 3nm process for significant performance and power efficiency improvements compared to the 5nm A16 Bionic chip in iPhone 14 Pro models.
  • Ultra-thin bezels: iPhone 15 Pro models are rumored to have even thinner, slightly curved bezels around the display.
With around two months to go until the iPhone 15 lineup is unveiled, additional features could be rumored, so keep tabs on our iPhone 15 Pro roundup.

No thanks on the action button. I thought the latest rumors were that they (read this forum and) went back on that.
Yeah, I really hope this rumor is false. I'd rather keep the lightning port than lose my mute switch. Having a physical switch to make SURE my phone won't make a peep, or ensure that it WILL when I put it down and walk away from it, is important.

Change for the sake of change sucks.

Titanium of course sounds very cool, but its utility is that it has a high strength to weight ratio. Not that it is as strong or hard as steel. I'd rather have a steel phone and deep sea submersible submarine than titanium.

Damn, I missed the poll asking what we thought the top 5 rumored features were.

I guess not enough people voted for the periscope camera?

Action button is still expected to replace the Ring/Silent switch on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. It's just expected to be a mechanical clicky button instead of solid-state with haptic feedback.

none of these 5 features are convincing to upgrade my 13PM ...
Still having a physical SIM card slot makes your 13PM a keeper, IMO. At least until more carriers get onboard with eSIM support... unless you don't travel much.

Would Apple increase the charging speed if moving to USB Type C?
it was rumored that the Pro models can have far battery usb-C while iphone 15 will have the same speeds as now
Some rumors even said that can be thunderbolt like on the ipad pro...that would be great

Yeah, I’m also a bit torn about this rumored feature.

While it may be handy to have a customizable button to trigger the camera or the flashlight, I am one of those who blindly touches the smartphone on the pocket to ensure it is on silence without taking it out. So I guess we’ll have to wait to see how this button is implemented and if there’s some sort of haptic feedback to know it is on silence. Otherwise I’d prefer a physical switch.

Wow, I haven't seen this much innovation in a loooooong time! 🤣 I am sure Tim Apple will hop on stage and say that Apple just invented the USB-C port as well.
Still amazed people forget that Apple were one of the first companies to go all USB-C on their laptops and at the time people lost their minds about it. Like in this headline from The Verge.

In general people don’t like innovation as it will cost them money. Adding USB C to the IPhone 15 Pro isn’t innovative but Apple have been pushing the industry this way for a long time.

Am I the only one that groans at the possibility of thinner bezels? Apple loves making things look good at the expense of making them hard to protect.

My phones go directly into a case with a screen protector and they save me every year.

I was just on a flight home a few weeks ago had my phone propped against the seat in front of me when the dude slammed himself against his seat for whatever reason sent my phone flying and cracked the screen protector. Had a new one applied as soon as I got home.

To begin with, they would certainly increase the charging price. Believe it or not, some people are annoyed they can't get top specs or top (highest) price from their favorite brand, and Apple will certainly oblige.

These updates, combined with the periscope camera lens, will be a nice upgrade from my XS. Going from a standard XS to a 15 Pro Max is a big enough change I think to justify the price IMO.
