This phone is a big miss for me. I haven't plugged my phone in in years so USB-C is no help to me. I need a device that fits into a normal pocket and can be used while not sitting on the couch ordering food. Titanium doesn't have a great look or feel. I would love a carbon fiber phone. Lite and strong.

The ultra 2 announcement is an embarrassment IMO. A brighter screen. Whoopy doo. I would have got that black one hands down. But giving the new watch faces to the ultra 1 I see no reason to even consider it for a millisecond.

Apple this week unveiled four new iPhone 15 models at its "Wonderlust" event. As always, there were many rumors leading up to the event that gave us an idea of what to expect from the devices, but not all of them were accurate.

I thought the whole presentation and the products were underwhelming and parts of the presentation were simply cringe worthy 😏
Nice to have camera improvements, especially flares potentially and lighter, but nothing that will make me go out and upgrade my 13 Pro.
Seems to me Apple did the least the could get away with AGAIN, mainly to keep the prices down.
I expect the sales this cycle will be at least 20 mil down

Other than the improved camera, iPhone update was very disappointing which is becoming a trend with Apple. Apple Watch Ultra not offering a black version means I won’t get one. I will stick with my Apple Watch Series 8.

I wonder if it has to do with the design of the A-series chips. Thunderbolt came to the iPad Pro when it transitioned to M1, 2018 and 2020 gens were USB-C, but limited to 3.1 speeds. Maybe the A-series cannot support a Thunderbolt connection without a major architectural overhaul
If it is a limitation of the A chip, they should have sorted it...anyway this ground breaking 3nm process, has hardly increased the power....amazing how many techies are simply ignoring this 😏

Yeah, with inflation it's honestly surprisingly. But Apple was already at the higher end of the market, so they've probably done enough market research and realized that increasing the price at this point is going to hurt sales more than keeping it the same. For instance, increasing the price by 10% may result in a drop in sales of 15%. Their margins are already quite healthy, according to most supply chain analysts.

But they've made back the difference in other ways. For instance, they held back the base iPhone to use an older CPU. They haven't increased base storage in years. They introduced the Plus model which costs more while getting rid of the Mini model which cost less. They offer the Pro Max in only 256GB so the average selling price is higher. They chip away in ways that make it seem like the price hasn't gone up, when in reality it has in certain hidden ways.
It's not really surprising, tech should get cheaper especially with volumes like iPhone.
For me the biggest savings they make is by introducing minimal upgrades for the second year on the trot.
It wouldn't surprise me if the sales get seriously hurt this cycle

By dropping the smallest storage configuration tier from the Pro Max line-up (128) while excluding the 5X optical zoom from the regular pro line-up, they are effectively forcing people to move up to the next / more expensive Pro Max level at 256. It's a master stroke to raise the price without officially raising the price per se.

You are also getting 8 MB of RAM instead of the 6 that were there last year. All in all, it sounds like a fair move on their part given all the inflation that's going on.

It's not only the ports, it's also a problem with the cables Apple is selling:
https://www.engadget.com/apples-swi...15-brings-more-cable-confusion-140030611.html

I'm deeply confused by what that article is trying to tell me. The cables are clearly marked as "Charge" cables with the wattage availed to them. There's, then, also the Thunderbolt cable they sell... and they're expensive, as they tend to be.

But if it's the lack of anything in the USB 3 family, welcome to the show. That's just the nature of what cable shopping looks like for USB these days, it's basically a jump from USB 2 to USB 4. A lot of cables in the 3 family will be USB type A instead of C... or have different ends. It's a nightmare hodge podge of different standards all with the same connections. You're really just best served getting those Thunderbolt cables since they'll have performance minimums associated to them if you need that data transfer.

Six years. The iPhone X released at $1000 in 2017. With inflation that is about $1250 now so the Pro Max base model costs the same as the X did. Tech usually gets cheaper so this is continues evidence of that, even with Apple.
Yeah, right, cost of living increased 25% in 6 years… 😂😂

Would have been nice to see it added, who came up with the rumors, without us having to click all the articles. Who's to trust in the future, and who is not.

Especially now that Apple Track has stopped updating.
