I guess they should make it an option for people who wanted. But polished titanium makes more sense for a watch because you’re not touching the edges as much and won’t smudge it as easily.
iphone x - 14 pro was shiny stainless steel that smudged easily. don't think it mattered to apple it.

it looks more premium. the matte vs shiny distinction between pro & standard iphones should return.

A couple of pictures and more impressions.
- The AOD is much brighter than I anticipated. Probably the same as the 15 Pro but coming from a 13, it was quite a surprise.
- Had a quick play with photographic styles, and it feels like a game changer. I think it will make a lot of people very happy to be able to find a style that work for them and use it as default.
- Camera control will take some getting used to! It feels like it just takes much longer to use it, instead of just tapping on the screen, but maybe it will just take some getting used to. I have to press a bit harder that I'd like to take the phot and it does feel like you're moving the phone a bit when you do. Again, might just get used to it. First impression is that it's not really a game changer. Maybe for video, but I mainly take photos.
- My 13Pro never felt slow, but this one definitely feels snappier.

While I choose a color I like it really doesn't matter since it's quickly covered with a case
why not get a clear case or something like the pitaka mag ez or rebel flex or arc pulse that shows off the design

The 16Pro we have arriving tomorrow has actually been sitting in Kentucky for several days now. I’m surprised they made it into the US that quickly, or that they didn’t just start delivering the shipments earlier.

I can’t remember exactly which iPhone it was (we’ve been at this for almost 20 years, folks) but i do recall one of them ending up to my house a few days ahead of schedule. Maybe the 4 or 4S?

It’s so odd to me. I don’t understand putting a case in a $1200 device. But that’s just me I guess. Never used a case for an iPhone. Had to use AppleCare once.

I don't think the metal feels good in the hands, and I use my phone hiking, camping, on my bicycle, out in my garage, shed and garden, at work with wet hands and tile....I would be breaking it on a weekly basis 🤣

You must have good manual dexterity. I'd love to be able to use my phone without a case, but I drop it regularly. When I tried to use one with no case, any drop that landed on a corner would smash the screen. In a case, it's almost always fine. [It's not just the phone -- I'm forever dropping crockery, glassware and other things, too]

Thanks for sharing the desert pics. With people saying it looked rose gold, I'd been starting to regret going with white -- I like rose gold! But the desert colour is definitely not rose gold and I am glad I went with white.
It's not yellow gold, more light bronze or even dark champagne. There is a hint of rose gold in certain lighting conditions

iPhone 16 Pro orders did sell out during the pre-order period, and online shipping estimates now range into October. If you missed pre-orders, you can likely get one of the new devices at an Apple Store or a nearby location like Target, Walmart, or Best Buy.

For some reason, my 16 pro max I ordered within the first fifteen minutes is a Sep 30 - Oct 2 shipment. Should I go to my local Apple Store tomorrow morning?

Help me decide MR faithful!

In Australia, at 6am local time, they released a whole bunch of stock for launch day pick up, even though delivery timeframe still shows mid Oct delivery.
