Well, I’ve been finding myself leaving most of my cases in a drawer and going mostly naked (plus screen protector)when I’m inside, and reaching for the Suti when I’m out and about. 🤷🏻‍♂️

A few random thoughts about the Paragon I received from @Hooterville today (thanks!):
  • The fit is very good and it’s slimmer than the Sheath. IMO it’s more like the Synthesis.
  • The buttons are excellent, including the camera control (it seems most companies have the CC dialed in now).
  • The flush sides with the slightly raised top and bottom lips are nice—like the Mous Limitless but more subtle.
  • The texture and ridges on the sides provide good grip, but the back is very slippery.
  • My main concern is how well the smooth back plate will resist scratches and smudges.
Overall, it’s better than I expected.

WOW, that is a sweet looking case :)

Been using the TineeOwl for about a month now. I like the overall feel of the case much better than the Sheath, it feels a bit softer, the sides are more rounded, and I like the grippy 'dots' on the sides of the case. The sides are a bit looser/softer than the Sheath, but it doesn't create any problems - I only notice it if I deliberately grab the side and peel it away from the phone. I like the round Action button a lot better, it's easy to immediately distinguish it from the volume buttons just by feel.

The one thing is that I hate the CC button on the case just as much as I thought I might. I guess I'm the exact opposite of everybody who complained about no CC button and held out on cases until they included them. My Sheath is non-CC, and I never accidentally hit the CC button because of the way it was recessed in the cutout. The TineeOwl's CC button is more flush with the side of the case (as most CC button cases are), and I accidentally hit it all the time when picking up/handling my phone. I have the CC set to double-click so it doesn't do anything more than wake my phone up when I hit it, but it's irritating nonetheless. The button works fine enough - I can slide to change settings and press to take pictures, but I honestly don't use it that often and would prefer it to be recessed and not so easy to inadvertently hit. I was always able to use the CC button fine with the Sheath when I wanted to, it was just more out of the way when I didn't.

I just ordered a non-CC TineeOwl, Amazon still has them for $9.99. I like everything else about the case so much that I'd rather order the new one than go back to using the Sheath, and ten bucks is a painless price to pay for it.

Man I keep putting back on the sheath but it feels so heavy and bulky and the only other cases I have are Apple silicone and Spigen Ultra Hybrid T
Agreed the Sheath is not what it used to be.

I literally had a Sheath for every phone since the 6 Plus up until the 13PM.

When they added the felt interior to make it more “premium” with the 14PM. That’s when for me personally I started liking it less and less up until not even considering it anymore at this point.

I bought it earlier this year and the moment I put it on my phone, my phone felt bulky and heavy.

Tried the Synthesis as well and it has gotten bulkier as well. Last year I wore the Synthesis all year for the 15PM and the prior year for the 14PM switching from the Sheath.

The metal buttons are nice but definitely not enough to entice me.

I am not knocking Caudabe’s quality though they produce top tier cases for sure but personally I have fallen out of love with the Sheath and Synthesis, they just don’t feel like the old formula of minimal yet protective type cases they used to be.

Supposedly, Caudabe said that they got lots of positive feedback on their cases being more protective now, as they got thicker to accommodate MagSafe.

Not sure what to think. I don’t dislike the Sheath now. I do prefer the minimalism of the old ones. And it’s definitely possible to make it that way again, as Spigen has done it with the Liquid Air.

What are you using now?

I can’t really see them going back to the old, thinner design, which would involve at least removing the lining, if not also the MagSafe magnets. Can you imagine the uproar if they did that? People would go nuts… lol.

I think the lining would be the victim. Spigen has made the Liquid Air with MagSafe now, and it has super strong magnets. I’m sure there are other engineering tradeoffs that I don’t know.

Yes. If they got rid of the lining and MagSafe, people would absolutely lose it.

I liked the old Sheath without the interior lining better. I used to remove my case every couple weeks and scrub it down inside and out with soap and hot water to get rid of all the oils from my hands and dust/sand particles and stuff. The lining in the newer cases absorbs water and I'm not putting my phone back in while it's still wet.

I wouldn't be happy if they removed the MagSafe magnets though, so I guess that's kinda why the lining is there in the first place.

The lining isn’t there for MagSafe magnets.

They just added the felt lining last year for the 15 series which was honestly a disaster with the MagSafe indentation issue.

Prior to that for the 14 and 13 series it had MagSafe without the lining.

Which I preferred due to the fact that I like to wash my case as well, it was so easy to give it a good scrub, get it thoroughly clean and make it look like new again without the lining.

Once they added the lining it made the case, heavier, bulkier, had MagSafe indentation issue and wasn’t as easy to give it a good wash.

For me it just isn’t a case I consider anymore. It is nonetheless a very good quality case and a lot of people still love it.

This was just my two cents.
