It's better than mine. Mine has been wireless overnight every might on an Anker charger - it's at 89% with 381 cycles as recently i've had to fast charge with cables as it doesn't last the full day anymore. Worst battery in an iPhone ever and i've had every one of them.
Here's what my daily battery use looks like after a year: this week I've used my phone a lot more than usual, for what that's worth, but you can see how many hours use I can get out of 100% charge.

Fellow Plaid owner! The issue is that new phones won’t fit anymore. I’ve always been tempted to do this.
The new 16 PM won’t fit in a 2021 refresh or new Model S wireless charging? Seems like still plenty of space - right?

But it does! Measure twice, cut once ;) This is one time where paying attention to rumors (bigger iPhone screen sizes) actually paid off.

The height difference from a 13 Pro Max/16 Plus (160.8mm) vs. a 16 Pro Max (163.0mm) is 2.2mm. I measured a minimum of 3.0 clearance with a 13 Pro Max, so a 16 Pro will fit just fine :) I'm a 'regular' size iPhone user, but any passenger will be able to charge, no problem.

Of course, I didn't account for the new 25w MagSafe..sigh. But with a couple of hours of work, I could swap out for the new charger x2. But honestly, 15w has always been just fine for me. If I really have a near-dead iPhone that needs a boost, I can just charge via wired USB-C and Tesla's 36w USB-C port.

It will... the issues is the 2021+ Model S/X Qi charging is garbage because the camera bump makes an air gap which causes heat build up and the iPhone stops charging. Or simply won't charge at all.

Which is why I retrofitted both my 3 and S to a MagSafe charging pad(s), all custom made, but worth the efforts.

do I win the worst 15 Pro Max battery competition? I use MagSafe and wired but don’t use battery optimization because I’m on the upgrade program and only need my battery to last a year.

I'm at 99% with 212 cycles on my 15 Pro, and I use the 80% optimization. I'm also on the IUP, but occasionally keep/pay it off to pass along to a family member. In the past year, I've never had usage drain it below 15%, so 80% isn't a burden to me.

I suspect since I have started installing iOS 18 developer betas my battery has tanked but my curiosity got the better of me.

Charging 50/50 between MagSafe 15 and 30 watt usb c apple charger. I keep at 80% max charge.

Good to see faster wireless charging. Big improvement from the existing MagSafe charging speeds.

Lol, all these new Qi2 chargers that just got released are already made obsolete.
And all you need to do is spend $1,000 or more, lol.

No, they are not obsolete, since most people charge at night and this new Apple charger isn't a proper in-car charger product, which is where magnetic wireless charging excels and is needed most.

It's clear on the website... You'll need a new MagSafe charger (distinguished by its woven cord and/or 2m length, plus 30w charger, in order to get 25w. Only iPhone 16 supports such 25w rate.
Oh ok thanks for pointing that out. Dang it Apple milking it to the max! 😂

But how are you getting through so many cycles? I use my phone a LOT and I'm on 224. I charge only to 80% and usually am above 20% by bed still.

Well it's charged every night, so that would be 350+ cycles by now already. I'm guessing the others are when i've gone on long drives with navigation on and it's had to recharge, plus recently it's down to 20% by the early evening and i'm having to plug it in again - it's been awful battery wise for me.

That's interesting you have that issue. I do not have that issue with my 15 Pro Max in my 2022 Model S, either naked phone or in the Apple silicone case.

I could get it to start a charge in both the 3/S OEM Qi chargers, but only 75% of the time. With the MagSafe retrofit, it’s 100% success rate. Plus, up to twice the charging speed :)

Why do people prefer Magsafe charging? You still have a cable attached to the device and its heavier than just using usb-c cable
There's lots of stands on the market that you can mount a Magsafe puck in and now you've got a charging stand.

I agree that it'd be silly to just have one laying on your desk but once you turn it into a charging stand it's really neat; you can turn it sideways and use standby mode, etc.

I have an Anker charging stand with the charger integrated, but there's also lots of cheaper options where you provide a Magsafe puck.

Isn't a cycle a full 0-100? As opposed to the number of over night charges. I've probably only charged mine over night about 10 times, for what that's worth.
