16PM did not restore from back and I see re-springs.

Also weird: sometimes the screen stops responding, dims just a bit. So say I’m in safari and go to the share sheet it locks and is unresponsive. I can swipe up and home. Go back in. Eventually it seems to “catch up” but very odd. Observed that behavior on an older phone with the beta so clearly this is an iOS bug.

I’ve had soft resets and restarts and a couple of hard reboots. A buddy is seeing something similar so just guessing but I think that stellar Apple QA and software quality to be the root here

Happens to me almost everyday. Have a 16 Pro Max. Screen ‘blip’ issues, touch screen issues, major camera issues (video recording shuts off mid recording, random pictures come out completely black). I so miss my Pro Max 15. 🥲

Remembering my iPhone 14 Pro used to crash and reboot and have audio problems when it was first released with iOS 16.

It has plenty of other problems though, mainly horrific battery life and heating up randomly.
Neither problem with my 16 Pro Max on iOS 18.0.1. Charging battery up to 80% capacity once daily in the early morning. By the following morning I still have roughly 30%+ left and that after relatively heavy use throughout most of the previous day. And no overheating whatsoever, unlike my previous 15 Pro Max which used to overheat until Apple released a fix. But after the fix, the 15 did feel slightly hot once in a while but I would never called it overheating. Also, absolutely zero freezes or restarts for me during the 2 weeks I’ve had my new 16PM. FWIW, to set up my new 16 PM, I transferred the data directly from my 15PM instead of from my iCloud backup. Don’t know if that made a difference in my experience thus far vs. that of others.

+1 This is by the far the buggiest phone (16 pro) I have ever owned from Apple. Multiple restarts per day, app crashes (camera app in particular), non-responsive screens and excessive battery drain. I will see how 18.1 fares but based on responses here not too hopeful.

I can only imagine how frustrating these reboots and other problems must be. I would be frustrated as hell. I'm counting myself very very lucky that my 16 pro has had none of these problems yet. No touchscreen issues, no reboots, no battery or overheating issues. While it could be the luck of certain hardware I'm guessing instead that some people happen to have some setting (or combination of settings) set just so that they are unlucky and get some of the bugs. Hope Apple can resolve these.

Mine does this, but so far only on when taking photo's occasionally. The camera app will crash the phone. So far it's happened about 5 times. However, my phone gets random heat flashes, which is concerning.
