Given a long enough timeline one sees patterns. You don’t need to be clairvoyantRunning a company the size of Apple is a level of challenging and complexity only an extraordinarily small number of people can comprehend, including you and me. Sure, the buck stops with the CEO but this is such an immature, oversimplified perspective. These were issues under Jobs, these are the same types of issues at *any* software company. Apple is just a large target. If we had OracleRumors or WindowsRumors or SalesForceRumors, etc., people would be saying the same thing about the same types of challenges.
Same here as well. Can’t click on other Safari tabs or scrolling won’t work. This has to be the worst iOS to date. I can only imagine how “Apple Intelligence” will roll out.My 15pm will freeze like its caching sometimes, other times its more annoying like when i try to swap tabs in safari and some of them i cant click and have to x out of them but some i can switch to some tabs.
only started when i upgraded to ios18
Apple needs to lay off these massive software and hardware updates every year. Each year it gets worse and worse. This year has been the worst cycle of software in Apples history. Bricked iPads and Apple Watches. Selling phones using commercials on features that aren’t even out yet and won’t be for months (Apple Intelligence). All of this reeks of desperation to keep shareholders happy while trying to hoodwink the public.
Its embarrassing and I think all of us should expect more from a 3 Trillion dollar company.
It's probably the software. Apple with its yearly software cycle is really shooting themselves on the foot with this deadline. The quality of the OS is just trash these days.
Another reason why locally stored iTunes backups are superior while Apple continues to find ways to take that away from us
Never forget what they stole from you
More and more by the day the local device management features are being deprecated or get ignored and neglected to the point they do not even workDo you think it’s because not enough people are working on the software or they’ve had resources cut etc? Software quality has gone downhill since Scott Forstall left, in my opinion (it wasn’t perfect when SJ & SF were around either, but it was better).
They should switch back to releasing software after a few years & when it’s ready. OS X releases happened every 2-3 years, if I remember correctly.
How is Apple trying to take away the local backup option?
Personally I believe it’s because a few things. Apple is biting off more than it can chew to keep new features coming that they simply run out of time. Also they have over complicated the product lineup especially with phones and iPads which makes it harder to test everything. But the biggest thing of all is they have over complicated things so much that it’s hard to even keep track of everything. Similar to how iTunes Mac app became a giant disaster in recent years before they pulled the plug and blew it up.Do you think it’s because not enough people are working on the software or they’ve had resources cut etc? Software quality has gone downhill since Scott Forstall left, in my opinion (it wasn’t perfect when SJ & SF were around either, but it was better).
iPhone 16 Pro Max: My phone doesn’t restart, but it does crash. I’m especially having this issue with the camera. There are times I just can’t use it at all and this is extremely frustrating. It won’t open. Or it will open and I can’t take a picture. Or when I tap on it to take a picture, the app just crashes. It’s infuriating! Apple, please fix this.
There appears to be a bug with some iPhone 16 models that is causing random restarts, according to complaints on Reddit, the MacRumors forums, and the Apple Support Communities. Affected users are seeing their iPhones freeze unexpectedly and then reboot.

Reports about the issue have been ongoing since the iPhone 16 models first launched in September, and have continued to this week. The iOS 18.0.1 and iOS 18.1 updates do not fix the issue, as it has continued to happen to users even after installing the latest software.
The problem seems to pop up randomly. The display will stop responding or will be very slow to respond to touch input, and then the iPhone will do a quick restart. There have also been reports of the iPhone restarting unexpectedly when in StandBy mode.
Some users who contacted Apple shortly after the new iPhones launched were able to get replacement devices, but have had the issue reoccur. Almost all of the complaints are about the iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max, so it may only be the Pro models that are impacted.
For most people, the issue is sporadic, but some users have seen 10 to 20 crashes per day. In some cases, doing a fresh install and not reinstalling from an iCloud Backup seems to have fixed the problem, so it is possible that this is a bug related to iCloud.

SAME!Mine does this, but so far only on when taking photo's occasionally. The camera app will crash the phone. So far it's happened about 5 times. However, my phone gets random heat flashes, which is concerning.
Clearly related to bugs in some application that all of these devices with the issues have in common. As we’ve seen in the past, poorly written applications, including a number of social media apps that developers and business beta testers do not use, can cause lag and even complete restarts.
