Frankly i doubt my finewoven case is gonna make it through the year. It started to disintegrate after less than a month of use. So whether the cases will (not) be compatible is the last thing to worry about"Look! Zero changes to the design but lets add button so that those idiots have to buy a new FineWoven case."

I will welcome the capture button in that location since the old way of triggering the camera from a one-handed hold was the volume buttons, which made it too easy to accidentally press power off instead, either by squeezing or just pressing index finger instead of thumb.I left the slider on silent 100% of the time since I wear the Apple Watch. But the capture button just adds button confusion.
In a time when other phone manufacturers are adding better cameras, bigger batteries, and pushing the boundaries of software with cutting-edge AI features, I'm glad Apple is focusing on what's really important in the world of mobile phone technology: strategically placed buttons.
