It’s Tim undercover.
And WE know you're going to love it!
All joking aside, it seems like this is the same every year. "Weak sales etc".
It’s Tim undercover.
Your reply would have merit, if you knew the total number of phones for each model available at each Apple Store location. We don’t need an analyst to tell us this. We can see by the fact that no model is back ordered further than 2 weeks…
Its yearly iPhone demand is weak from analysts. Last year it was same story, and then they claim despite all odds iPhone 15 pro max was best selling phone.I see the percentages, but is it "we need to try better" bad or "cancel imminent (a la iPhone minis)" bad?
It’s a solid tock release. Some of the major updates like better microphones and thermals aren’t sexy and won’t move units, but will pay dividends down the line.
FWIW I’m watching close to see why Apple included the capture button on the base models. Not doing that would increase margins for those phones and probably increase ASP’s as many would go to the pro for that feature. I think there’s a longer game here. It does nudge users to take more landscape photos and videos, but I’m not sure what Apple’s payoff would be with that 🤔
That would be terrible. Apple made 69.6 Billion last year in December quarter. Thats the number to beat.Apple will make 33 billion dollars instead of 34 billion dollars, I’m shaking and crying rn
It seems that he was right, though: https://www.macrumors.com/2024/04/25/iphone-activation-market-share-decline/This is Kuo last year. Grumman also said iPhone revenue will fall with 15 sales weak.
They can just change the number of the model and put out a similar report every year.

Apple must be a broken clock, they’ve done the tock release for nearly 5 years. Refinements to cameras and Dynamic Island are definitely not a tickIt’s a solid tock release. people really justifying ignorance with decade’s old prejudices. China’s massive middle class market is shifting demand so far that China’s growing infrastructure and consumer goods are rapidly surpassing US and European equivalents. In a decade or less you’re going to be begging for Huawei or some other Chinese good.I have no use for a copycat phone with a substandard and fractured OS.
No. Apple revenue went up Last year with iPhone 15 holiday quarter. apple had second best quarter ever for iPhone. It seems that he was right, though: https://www.macrumors.com/2024/04/25/iphone-activation-market-share-decline/
all the people personally and emotionally invested that think their patronage of Apple somehow makes them matterWho’s “we”?
How many times can you buy the same exact thing?
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo today said demand for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max has been "lower than expected" since the devices became available to pre-order in the U.S. and dozens of other countries on Friday. Kuo said his data is based on a "supply chain survey" and shipping estimates listed on Apple's online store.

Kuo estimated that sales of all four iPhone 16 models reached about 37 million units in the first weekend after Apple began accepting pre-orders, which is down nearly 13% compared to first-weekend sales of the iPhone 15 series last year. The analyst said a key factor for the decline is the lower demand for the Pro models, with first-weekend sales of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max estimated to be down 27% and 16%, respectively, compared to iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max sales during the equivalent period last year.
The standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have seen higher demand than the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus during the first weekend of sales, but this has not been enough to offset the lower demand for the Pro models, according to Kuo.
Kuo said a major reason for the iPhone 16 Pro models having lower-than-expected demand is that Apple Intelligence will not be available on the devices when they launch on Friday. Instead, the first Apple Intelligence features are rolling out with iOS 18.1 in October. In addition, the analyst said the iPhone is facing "intense competition" in China.

Haha yep, always have to factor in opportunity cost!Make sense. After all you can still get something ELSE that's shiny and new. I'm mostly upgrading my 13s to get the satellite SOS that came on the 14 but the other upgrades are nice to have along for the ride. I used to update every year or two but now every three years seems about right and I can always find other shiny things or great trips to spend extra cash on.
The disappointed Pro users will not choose the non Pro versions. They will skip this generation altogether.Kuo also wrote that the higher 16 sales don’t compensate for the lower 16 Pro sales, which means it’s not just a shift from Pro to non-Pro.
Sure they will.Don’t believe it, we will sell millions of 16 Pros
None of that is meaningful upgrade from last year. I wonder how useful a mono-tasking button is for camera. The interface Apple showed off is going to confuse old people. The screen is still awful and the camera changes could actually be worse for everyday usage since the 3 to 5x jump is such a drastic difference when composing. Charging is, whatever I guess that’s good. Most of the pro camera features - I’d love to know the breakdown of who actually uses that stuff. The majority want point and shoot. Is the pro phone actually a pro video and photo phone but not Pro as in professional? I suspect soThis. Everyone looks for the sexy features but ignores the useful refinements. For the pro it’s about the better battery life, faster modem, WiFi 7, additional button for photography and video, faster charging, and 48MP wide angle. Most of the features that are important to me didn’t even get a mention. Meanwhile the tentpole feature, like AI, which was touted is completely irrelevant to me.
The 13 pro is a plenty capable phone - even the X and 11 are enough for most people. I plan on staying with my 13 mini at least one more year. But you know that island is smaller than your notch, right?Until Dynamic Island shrinks significantly I’m sticking with my 13 pro. I would assume if that happens along with increase of ram the pros would do good.
