Which will happen first: Apple putting a 5000+ mAh battery in a flagship phone like other phone manufacturers,

Wouldn't putting a 5000+ mAh battery increase the iPhone's weight?

or Apple putting 16 GB in an entry-level MacBook Air / iMac? :p

(not holding my breath for either one)

Ideally Apple doubles the RAM & SSD sizes while maintaining MSRP like those below.

I put my iPhone 15 in low power mode and was shocked how much battery it saved and how long I got out of it. No matter how big the upgrade of battery, all the background services drain the battery like mad.

29 hours on the 15 pro max ? No chance

with light use and all the settings optimised, I’m getting about 12 hours

I tuned off background app refresh for everything except my weather app. It seems help quite a bit, and I get 1.5 days out of my 13 Pro with 86% battery life.

Solid State Battery tech is coming. It will change this entire discussion of battery pain points. You'll have to find something else to complain about.

The crazy thing about the RAM situation on the iMac is it has been at 8GB for the entry models since 2012...

i have a 15 pro max and while i'll always welcome more battery life...it's not really at the top of my list. the battery life is amazing on the 15 PM.

a larger screen and more battery is great so good on apple but it's not a huge increase so i'm not going to run out and buy a 16 series phone this year lol.

how about apple go further with a 7" phone and even better battery life for the 17 or 18? by then i'll be tempted to upgrade. the larger the screen and battery the better but again they have other things to improve upon first

i had an 8GB macbook in 2008 but that was back when Apple let you upgrade things yourself and didn't lock everything down. it's pathetic that well over a decade and a half later that apple is still trying to sell 8GB ram base specs lmfao.

Meh. Ill probably replace my battery in the fall and get at least 2 more years out of my iPhone 12 Pro.

Since Apple is recommending not charging your phone beyond 80% in order to keep the battery healthy, any increase in battery size is welcome to reclaim the 20% we lost. I bet that it's going to be way more than an extra hour. I bet the increase will be from 29 hours to 34 hours because of 5g optimization.

Apple isn't recommending it. They gave that as an option for people who wanted it; it's not pre-enabled, and it's not encouraged.

They need to find a way to increase battery life by 20% without a marked increase in phone weight and size.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max could feature the longest-ever battery life offered in an iPhone, according to rumors detailing some of the upcoming high-end iPhone's improvements coming out of Korea.

Citing supply chain sources in a post last week, the Naver user known as "yeux1122" corroborates a series of rumors about the iPhone 16 Pro, such as its display size increase from 6.1- to 6.3-inches. They explain that the device's increased chassis size and internal changes enable the device to offer increased optical zoom capabilities, likely referring to the adoption of the tetraprism 5x telephoto camera first introduced last year on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The user added that the size increase will likely be barely noticeable compared to the current model, but it will still have larger bezels than Samsung's Galaxy S24. The device is also set to feature a similar-sized or larger battery. The iPhone 16 Pro was the only device in the lineup missing from a report last week that detailed the next-generation iPhones' battery capacities.

In a follow-up post, the Naver user explained that many of the iPhone 16 Pro's components will benefit from improved power consumption. Most strikingly, the report added that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will contain a larger battery to reach the longest-ever battery life offered in an iPhone. The iPhone 15 Pro Max currently touts a 29-hour battery life, so perhaps the iPhone 16 Pro Max will tick over 30 hours for the first time ever.

Last week's report suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a 5% larger battery than its predecessor for a total of 4,676 mAh. While this is only a very small increase, it is possible that other efficiency savings could help boost the device's overall battery life.

Other details outlined on Naver include the rumor that the iPhone 16 Pro models will continue to feature 8GB of memory, and that Apple has apparently improved the manufacturing process of the device's titanium frame while reducing costs. The iPhone 16 lineup is expected to be announced in the fall.
