Another year, another iPhone launch!

I turned up to Apple Broadway in Sydney at 8.30 this morning and picked up my iPhone 16 Pro Max in Desert Titanium
There wasn’t much of queue and I was in and out of the store in 15 mins. As it’s not the flagship store, it was much less chaotic and civilised than the George St store in the Sydney CBD.

First impressions:
  • LOVE the Desert Titanium. It appears bronze in certain lighting and sometimes rose gold. Reminiscent of the rose gold 6s Plus that I had but maybe one shade darker. The back panel is what some would call a “nude” colour
  • The phone is not that much heavier than the 15 PM.
  • Bezels are definitely smaller than the 15 PM and it’s very noticeable to the naked eye.
  • Camera control button is okay/meh. It's in an awkward position to reach in landscape and you have to grip the phone in an unnatural manner.
Pics below. Cases include Apple silicone in Lake Green and Beats case in sunset purple. I actually like the sunset purple Beats case more even though some think it’s too glossy/plasticky.

Last pic is a direct comparison against a 12 mini (I know from the smallest to the biggest iPhone! I sold my 15 PM a few weeks ago and had to use the 12 mini as a backup...)

Happy to take any questions!

She is gorgeous

I was looking forward to this thread. Thanks @Boardiesboi, hope you enjoy the new iPhone, that color looks great!

When you were in the store to pick up, were you able to hold a 16 Pro? If you were, how would you compare the 16 Pro weight distribution to the 16 Pro Max? In the past the Pro models have felt heavier to me in the hand even though they aren’t. I’m curious if the slightly taller device helps with the weight distribution.

Sorry I didn't browse in the store and was in and out. But once you get the bigger Pro Max, it'll be very hard to go back down to smaller sizes.

Are speakers better than 15 pro max? Heard they were more rich and full. How's the 6.9 screen with thin bezels?

Thanks as always Boardiesboi! I am getting the same color and am looking forward to seeing it in person with my lake green case. We appreciate all the photo's and information!!!

Does the MagSafe wallet come off easily from the glossy beats case? I really like that purple one as well

Every year we look forward to these @Boardiesboi! Do you notice a difference in the extra screen real estate? Color looks great.

I'm coming from a 15PM - but I ordered the 16 Pro instead of the 16 Max as I just couldn't deal with a heavier phone. Loved the screen size of the 15MP but it was just too darn heavy. Anyone else downsizing and does OP think it is notably heavier?
Not noticeable heavier but it's definitely not light.

If you didn't like the heft of the 15PM, I reckon downsizing to the 16P is a good choice. Also depends on your personal usage, e.g. if you're out and about a lot or mostly using it on the couch or in bed.

How does the screen seem as far as tint? On the warmer or cooler side?

Also, love that green case. I have that on order for next month.
