As of this morning, all 4 Apple Stores around are showing same-day pick-up availability for 16 Pro Max and Pro in almost every color and storage capacity. The only one that's not available at all 4 locations are the 256gb and 512gb in black.(only available at 2 of the 4 locations)

How is this possible? I am wondering if Apple made too many or there's simply not enough demand? when the 14 and 15 Pro/Pro Max came out in 2022 and 2023, none of the 4 stores had any until 3 weeks later.

I have a 14 Pro Max. I have the 16 Pro Max 512gb and it's been ready for pick up since yesterday. I'm just not sure if I really want to go through with it. Seems to me that if the reason is lack of interest, the 16 Pro Max resale value will not be so good when I want to sell it in a year or two.(presumably for the iPhone 18 Pro Max or Ultra)
Just a wild guess on my part. Perhaps the economy and consumer lower than usual disposable income. 😅

Much lower demand?

People will increasingly keep their phones longer, I'm thinking. It could even become trendy to have an older phone. That would be something.
